Galatasaray hoping Chelsea legend Didier Drobga will convince Gary Cahill to join

GARY CAHILL is a target for Galatasaray — but may need persuading from Didier Drogba to sign.

The ex-England centre-back, 33, left Chelsea this summer and the Turkish giants are among suitors who want him on a free.

Retired Drogba, 41, spent a year in Istanbul and his old club hope he can talk his former Blues team-mate into finishing his career at a Champions League club.

They will be able to offer bigger wages than the Championship clubs who are chasing Cahill.

SunSport revealed the English defender is a target for Leicester - who are braced to lose Harry Maguire this summer.

Both Manchester clubs are in for the Foxes centre-half - with Old Trafford chiefs leading the race but are yet to match the £85million price tag.

Cahill has already has a number of clubs chasing his services as he weighs-up his future with Arsenal joining the chase last week.

Leicester face competition from several other Premier League outfits.

West Ham are also keen while Roy Hodgson would love to bring the veteran to Crystal Palace.

Cahill is determined to remain in the top-flight and he is also believed to be aiming to stay in London.

That could rule out his old team Aston Villa, who are also interested in the centre-half.

But the opportunity of regular first-team football could prove key, and he is most-likely to get that at Villa Park.
