DAVID GOLD does not think Slaven Bilic is the right man to manage the Three Lions because he is not English.

The West Ham co-owner thinks FA chief executive Martin Glenn should rule out a foreign coach.

Gold told SunSport: “I’m biased because I wouldn’t want us to lose Slaven.

“But I don’t want an overseas England boss.  We’ve done it  before and I  don’t think it will help.

“Why have a foreign coach? Next thing, we’ll be wanting a German  centre-forward or an  Italian defender.”

Jurgen Klinsmann will wait for the FA to make the first move after Roy Hodgson’s departure, it is clear the inquiry will meet with a far more positive response than it has from Gareth Southgate and Arsene Wenger.

The German legend, 51, is on rocky ground with his USA bosses after failing to kick on since the World Cup two years ago — despite taking them to the semi-finals of the Copa America last week.
