Pep Guardiola introduces Manchester City fat camp to get pot-bellied Etihad stars in shape
New boss has banned pizza and will banish overweight players to the gym until they are in tip-top condition

PEP GUARDIOLA has introduced a fat camp at Manchester City to ensure his players are in tip-top shape.
The new Etihad chief arrived less than a month ago but told his players they will not be allowed to train with the first team if they are carrying extra pounds — and will do conditioning work instead.
That could spell bad news for those who have not yet started full training due to Euro 2016.
Gael Clichy revealed Guardiola’s crackdown on fatties, saying: “If your weight is too high, you’re not training with the team.
"That is the first thing. You hear it a lot but for my part it’s the first time any manager has really done it.
“And we have a few players who are not training with the team yet…
“It’s funny but we play football and it’s a job and you have to take responsibility.
“Of course you have quality but you have to know that, if your weight is 60kg and you are 70kg, you cannot play football.”
Defender Clichy, 31, also admits City stars are on much stricter diets.
He said: “The manager cut out some juice and of course pizza, and all the heavy food is not allowed.

Several international aces have rejoined the squad out here in Shenzhen — but Clichy fears they are in for a shock when they get back to Manchester.
He added: “The weather is humid and hot so you can’t really train how we did before. But when we get back to Manchester they will see what it is about. We work hard.”
