ARSENAL have rejected West Ham's loan bid for Kieran Gibbs.

The Hammers want an experienced left-back to slot in for the injured Aaron Cresswell and Gibbs, 26, fits the bill.

Cresswell, also 26, is expected to miss up to four months of the 2016/17 campaign after suffering a knee injury in a pre-season friendly in Austria.

Boss Slaven Bilic is desperate to bring in a like-for-like replacement and Gibbs - who has fallen behind Nacho Monreal in the Emirates pecking order - is a prime target, according to the .

Norwich defender Martin Olsson, 28, is also on the Hammers' radar.

The Swede lost his place last term to Republic of Ireland ace Robbie Brady and the Canaries are reportedly open to a deal for Olsson, who is in the final year of his contract.

Hull's Andrew Robertson, 22, and FC Copenhagen's Swede defender, Ludwig Augustinsson, also 22, are two other options.

West Ham have also tabled a £20million offer for Swansea forward Andre Ayew to bolster their front line next season.
