Steve Mullen guides you through Sunday's racing at Newmarket, Hamilton and Towcester

Soliloquy

1.50 NEWMARKET

ADAMANT looks ready for this distance after coming home strongly over 1m2f when second at Newbury last time. This stiffer track will also help and he looks open to plenty of improvement on just his fifth start.

2.05 HAMILTON

LAKE VOLTA is fit from the all-weather where he was unlucky not to win one of the championship races on Good Friday. He finished fast and late after suffering traffic problems.

He drops in trip here but has plenty of pace and should give favourite Bengali Boys lots to think about.

2.20 NEWMARKET

Wuheida will be hard to beat but her price looks a bit skinny coming back from six months off. ELEGANT POSE is open to improvement and went close in a Naas Group 3 last time out.

She was entitled to need that after five months out and this better ground won’t be an issue.

2.35 HAMILTON

ARCHIPPOS went close off this handicap mark at Thirsk last time and likes this track. He has stayed 2m before and will have no problem with the distance.

This looks an open race but he should be right in the mix.

CLASSIC DREAM Karl Burke dreaming of Guineas glory with Laurens on Sunday

2.55 NEWMARKET

MR LUPTON is 3lb lower in the weights than when winning this race 12 months ago. He has run other good races since then and should benefit from his comeback at Doncaster last time out.

He was a good second at Listed level there and that should have left him spot on.

3.35 NEWMARKET

SOLILOQUY showed a real liking for this track when running away with the Group 3 Nell Gwyn Stakes here last time out.

That was over 7f but she wasn’t stopping and the winning margin could have been greater than one and three-quarter lengths.

Happily’s best form last season would make her very hard to beat. She hated her trip to the Breeders’ Cup in November but would a couple of Group 1 races before that.
Laurens has been underestimated but she won the Fillies’ Mile in a driving finish here last season and would have every chance if fit enough on this comeback.
