Today’s FREE horse racing tips: Chelmsford, Ffos Las, Nottingham and Thirsk – Steve Mullen’s betting preview for Tuesday, August 14
Steve Mullen guides you through Tuesday's racing at Chelmsford, Ffos Las, Nottingham and Thirsk

FFOS LAS
INCENTIVE won this race 12 months ago in similar conditions and is just 4lb higher in the weights today.
She is in decent form having finished second at Goodwood and just two lengths off the pace at Kempton last time. Andrea Atzeni is a good booking and a big run is expected.
Sweet Pursuit clearly loves it here with back-to-back wins over this trip.
The softer ground is a slight concern but she should be competitive from 5lb higher.
Tafawoq comes from classy connections and should find this easier than Newmarket last time where she was fourth. She may need a bit more help from the handicapper but won’t be far away.
2.45 - Hot Team (latest odds here)
HOT TEAM looks the one to beat after a couple of cracking runs, including when winning with plenty in hand at Newbury last time out. He quickened well and saw out every yard of the 7f trip.
Latest in horse racing
The ground is softer today but he went close in testing conditions at York so will be hard to stop.
Leroy Leroy has shown promise on both his starts and almost scored at Sandown last time before lack of experience may have told in the closing stages. He should improve for Richard Hannon.
Three Comets from Roger Varian looks the pick of the newcomers and cost half a million which underlines the quality of his breeding.
3.15 - Elsaabiqaat (latest odds here)
ELSAABIQAAT looks a decent prospect on this handicap debut after going close switched back to turf at Salisbury last time.
She was less than a length off the lead there and it’s interesting to see this drop in distance from what looks a fair mark.
Across The Sea is another who showed promise in maidens and was hampered when midfield at Windsor last time. As a result her opening mark could be on the lenient side.
GALAXY OF HER OWN Superstar Alpha Centauri slams rivals in Prix Jacques le Marois demolition job
3.45 - Pepper Street (latest odds here)
PEPPER STREET has been running in better races than this and was far from disgraced when fifth at Newmarket last time.
She wasn’t helped by traffic problems coming back from more than three months off. She’s down the weights and has enough ability for a race like this.
Honorbound was asked to come from a long way off the pace on the AW at Lingfield last time and did well to finish third. He looks on a fair mark and should be thereabouts again.
Pescedora comes from respected connections and was entitled to need the run after eight months off at Lingfield last time. There should be more to come.
4.15 - Formula One (latest odds here)
Two sons of Frankel should fight this out with FORMULA ONE just getting the nod over Guild.
The tip made an eyecatching start to his career at Newcastle when almost winning despite badly missing the break.
That was over 1m2f and this longer trip should suit and there’s surely a lot more to come.
Guild has already got a win under his belt and carries a 7lb penalty as a result, which could make all the difference. That said, it would be no surprise to see him strike again.
4.45 - Sharja Silk (latest odds here)
SHARJA SILK could be the answer to this tricky puzzle. He is bred to be a star but things haven’t quite gone to plan so far.
He went well over this trip at Sandown in June before a modest effort at Doncaster last time.
The easier ground here could help and this is a slight drop in quality too for Roger Varian’s hope.
Hawridge Flyer wasn’t stopping over 1m4f at Haydock last time when second. He’s gone well here before and was within a length of striking at Sandown and Goodwood in similar races earlier this summer. He goes in soft ground and looks the danger.
5.15 - Air Of York (latest odds here)
AIR OF YORK has been running well on faster ground but has winning form in soft conditions too.
He was a close-up second in a better race than this at Newbury last time on the back of some good runs at Chepstow.
He hasn’t been clobbered by the handicapper and is in better form than most of these rivals.
The Groove put some modest runs behind him with a good third at Chepstow last time and is off the same mark today with a capable claimer on board.
He has a chance, while Bidding War is still learning the game and wasn’t disgraced at Catterick latest.
