MULLEN IT OVER

Today’s FREE horse racing tips: Newton Abbot, Beverley, Salisbury, Worcester and Kempton – Steve Mullen’s betting preview for Wednesday, August 15

Steve Mullen guides you through Wednesday's racing at Newton Abbot, Beverley, Salisbury, Worcester and Kempton

SALISBURY

2.10 - Dirty Rascal (latest odds here)

DIRTY RASCAL was first past the post at Ascot two starts ago before being demoted and showed that was no fluke with an excellent effort when second at Goodwood last time out.

2

He was closing all the way to the line there so further than this 7f will trip will suit but for now he looks hard to beat.

Breath Of Air is nicely bred and it would be no surprise to see him run well on debut, with similar comments applying to Flashcard who is worth a market check on debut.

2.40 - Look Surprised (latest odds here)

LOOK SURPRISED is carrying a 6lb penalty for winning at Windsor last time but she got the job done with plenty in hand so can shoulder that. She is at her best over this 5f distance and this slight step up in class holds no fears.

Signore Piccolo ran his best race for a long time when a close third at Beverley last time and is only 1lb higher in the weights. He likes this trip and should be right there again.

Secretfact is in cracking form and dug deep to win at Wolverhampton latest. A repeat of that would give him every chance.

3.10 - George (latest odds here)

GEORGE has clocked up some good form over this trip, including when winning at Chelmsford last time.

He’s not just an AW performer though as he won well at Goodwood in June and hasn’t been hammered too much by the assessor. With Silvestre De Sousa on board, he should run well again.

GALAXY OF HER OWN Superstar Alpha Centauri slams rivals in Prix Jacques le Marois demolition job

Tahreek drops back in distance after not getting home over 1m2f at Newbury last time. He won well the last time he tackled this trip and is clearly still improving at this relatively early stage of his career.

Ateem is a little hit and miss but has run well in similar contests and it wouldn’t be the biggest shock if he bounced back.

3.40 - Chain Of Daises (latest odds here)

CHAIN OF DAISIES has been out of sorts on both runs this season but was a good performer last term and is a Group 3 winner over this trip at her best. She may have needed those outings and is having just her third visit to the racetrack this season.

This track should suit and a return to her best form would be more than good enough.

Promising Run went close in a similar race at Pontefract last time and is a major threat.

Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore team up with the well-bred Crystal Hope who held her own in Listed company at Newbury last time on just her third visit to the track. There should be more to come.

4.10 - Tinos (latest odds here)

TINOS is being upped in distance for this handicap debut from what looks a fair opening mark.

He finished fourth at Chelmsford last time despite not being asked many questions and gives the strong impression that this distance will be ideal.

Second Page has been off for nine months but was going the right way before than and looks well weighted too.

Champs De Reves stayed on strongly over a mile last time and is another who should be suited by this longer trip on their handicap bow.

4.40 - Crystal Casque (latest odds here)

CRYSTAL CASQUE could be the answer to this tricky finale. She was just over a length off the pace at Sandown last time despite being hampered at a crucial stage.

The handicapper has left her mark alone and this drop back in distance could help as she ran well over it a couple of times at Kempton last season.

Summerseat Mist was a solid second at Chepstow last time and wouldn’t have to show much more to take this.

Burren View Lady looks ready to win against after a solid Chelmsford third and has a capable 5lb claimer on board.
