ITV racing tips: Matt Chapman’s top betting preview for Saturday’s TV racing

Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV's Matt Chapman runs you through Saturday's live racing on ITV

YORK is just around the corner, so the quality this weekend is not of the highest order, but there are still seven races to get stuck into on ITV4.

The terrestrial races include four from Newbury, two from Ripon and one from Newmarket, so let's see what damage we can do!

1

The opener at Newbury is the Listed Washington Singer over 7f at 1.50pm.

BOITRON has looked decent in two victories and stayed 7f strongly last time. He's got a bit of experience for Richard Hannon and has a high rating of those with ratings.

Next up at Newbury is the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer over nearly 1m6f at 2.25pm.

WALTON STREET was denied a run at Goodwood when cheekpieces were forgotten, but he's been progressive in 1m4f handicaps and has a great each-way chance.

He's tried this trip before and appears to get it, so although he looks the Charlie Appleby second strong I think he's got a great chance.

There's a handicap over 7f at 3.00pm. FOX TROTTER gives Nicky MacKay a chance of a big TV win for Brian Meehan.

My selection is worth a few quid each-way as he is well handicapped and stays strong. He also goes on any ground. Finally at Newbury it's the Group 2 Hungerford over 7f at 3.35pm.

This looks the ideal trip for GUSTAV KLIMT and I fully expect Aidan O'Brien's three-year-old to win. He was far from disgraced in the Sussex at Goodwood.

Matt Chapman's TV tips

1.50 Newbury - Boitron: 'Looks a nice prospect after his two starts and has some valuable experience'

2.05 Ripon - Holiday Magic: 'Ran well at Goodwood and is chucked in on his best form'

2.25 Newbury - Walton Street: 'Progressive type and has a big each-way chance'

2.45 Newmarket - Jawwaal: 'Cheekpieces for the first time could be a big help'

3.00 Newbury - Fox Trotter: 'Well handicapped and goes on any ground'

3.15 Ripon - Growl: 'Put in a big run at Goodwood and can follow that up'

3.35 Newbury - Gustav Klimt: 'Far from disgraced in the Sussex and this looks his optimum trip'

At Ripon ITV show the 2.05pm, a handicap over 6f. HOLIDAY MAGIC is 0-19 on turf so is hardly sexy!

However, he stays well, was far from disgraced at Goodwood last time and is chucked in on his best form. He could finish last as easily as first - but at decent odds I will risk an each-way bet.

The big one at Ripon, also over 6f, is the Great St Wilfrid at 3.15pm. GROWL is another each-way hope.

He's got nothing in hand on handicap ratings for Richard Fahey, but has decent handicap form on his last two starts including at Goodwood in the Stewards' Cup.

Finally, ITV show the 2.45pm at Newmarket, a handicap over 6f. JAWWAAL has been dropped a couple of pounds and now gets cheekpieces.

He's definitely got ability for John Gosden and is another who has place claims.

So best of luck on a tricky day. Pray for Yeeehaaas!
