STORM COMING

Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks for today’s racing at Wolverhampton, Chelmsford, Brighton, Carlisle and Uttoxeter

Don't miss out on Sun Racing's best bet and each-way shot at all of today's meetings

THE countdown is well and truly on until Saturday's British Champions Day.

But first stop Thursday, and what better way to build up your purse than a look at each meeting.

2

Brighton

Best bet

1.30 Baby Gal - Ran behind a horse, which has since scooted up in a Class 2, last time out and this race shouldn't take much winning. Local yard goes well at this track.

Each way

2.00 Canford Dancer - Not seen since running well in a strong Newbury race in June. That form has played out nicely and so long as she's properly fit she has a cracking chance here.

Chelmsford

Best bet

6.45 Awe - Won well enough on second time of asking at Redcar, beating a well-backed Godolphin fancy. Penalty to shoulder here, but not much of rivals form worries me.

Each way

7.15 Dark Profit - Good third after lengthy comeback, should have set him up perfectly for this. A pound lower than latest win and drawn well in stall two.

Wolverhampton

Best bet

5.25 Compass Scoobie - Resurgent of late and mark doesn't look anywhere near beyond him. Course and distance winner should be too good in the opener.

Each way

7.00 Art Echo - Back at his favourite track and easy to forgive Newcastle run. Looks a huge price based on last two starts here.

2

Carlisle

Best bet

2.45 Good Boy Bobby - Was an exciting bumper horse last season and big things were expected. Sure to have come on over the summer and looks ready made for hurdles.

Each way

4.20 Craggaknock - Top weight, but should be in perfect condition following a spin on the flat. Solid form on testing ground and has run well many a time of a similar mark.

Uttoxeter

Best bet

3.55 Mia's Storm - Seriously progressive last season until a couple of tumbles. Should resume progress though and this looks a lovely starting point for what could be a big season.

Each way

4.30 Monsieur Lecoq - Trainer has had a nice start to life and this horse has some decent form in the book from last year. Wide open race and should be in the mix with a clean run.

The top jockeys and trainers as you've never seen them before...
