WITH four cards to get stuck into today and have a punt at, Monday doesn't seem so bad at all!

Plumpton hosts a very poorly supported National Hunt meeting with just 37 runners across a seven-race card. There's also Flat action from Windsor, Pontefract and Kempton on the all-weather.

Plumpton

Best bet

3.50 - Knocknanuss: The Moore's are kings of Plumpton and father and son team of Gary and Jamie can team up together to land this prize with Knocknanuss. This eight-year-old progressed well over hurdles last year but his future has always been over fences and it's interesting he's pitched straight into a handicap.

Each-way

4.20 - Ding Ding: This mare is a course regular and also has a good record when fresh so she could be the one to sneak into the top two at a tasty price. This trip is likely to stretch her but her course form is important at this tight track.

Windsor

Best bet

3.10 - Ace Ventura: Roger Varian's three-year-old did himself no favours when starting slowly at Epsom last time and he's worth another chance after doing his best work late on. This is a drop back in grade with the trip and ground conditions to suit after his heavy-ground maiden win last year.

Each-way

4.10 - Secret Return: Paul George's mare has only been out of the placings twice in 11 starts and she should be in the mix again. She put in a typically solid run over course and distance last time and there's no reason she won't do the same again.

Pontefract

Best bet

2.30 - Shallow Hal: Took a big step forward last time when wining decisively and with conditions once again right up his street there's every chance he can put in a repeat performance to win again.

Each-way

2.00 - Tony Chestnut: Punters will be hoping Andrea Atzeni can give this lad a more reserved ride after an aggressive ride over further last time did away with his chances. The drop back in trip will help and he looks to have more than enough ability to land a race such as this.

Kempton

Best bet

8.40 Desert Frost: Godolphin contender Desert Frost wasn't put in the best of positions last time out at Chelmsford and stayed on well without troubling the leaders. Oisin Murphy is likely to have him closer to the action this time and he can stamp his authority on the race.

Each-way

6.40 Shape Of Water: Richard Hannon's two-year-old certainly needed the experience at Lingfield on debut and she did plenty of good work late on. She will have learnt plenty from that run and it would be no surprise to see her take a significant step forward.
