Paul Nicholls saddled his 3,001st winner with Wonderful Charm

EVERYWHERE you looked on Wednesday you saw racing. Five meetings across the afternoon ensured punters were busy.

Up at Sun Racing towers we kept a close eye on the bits you may have missed and let you in on a couple of sneaky ones.

Storyline of the day 📖

4.30 Doncaster - Wonderful Charm

You just can't keep Paul Nicholls and his team out of racing's feel good stories.

Veteran chaser Wonderful Charm was one of the easiest winners you'll ever see in the Hunter Chase up at Doncaster under Sam Waley-Cohen.

Sent off at 10-11 he was never in danger and threw his hat into the ring for another deserved shot at the Foxhunters come the Festival.

He'll have stablemate Pacha Du Polder to get past, but several firms cut the 11-year-old into 16-1 for the race.

One for your tracker 🔭

Ludlow 3.00 - Oxwich Bay

It was a relief to see this chap back over hurdles after an interesting time over fences.

He only made it around twice in five goes - and then he only made it by the skin of his teeth.

He has some cracking hurdles form to his name and I really fancied him for a handicap at Cheltenham two seasons ago. He was a well-backed second that day and shows the ability is in there.

Now back over hurdles, he's back on a very tempting mark and today was much more encouraging with a steady fourth at Ludlow.

Where the money went on Wednesday 💰

Newcastle 3.10 - Keyser Soze

Available this morning at 5-2 in places, there was no hanging around with Richard Spencer and the Rebel Racing boys as their Usual Suspect came up trumps once again at 13-8.

Rapidly on the upgrade, Spencer has big races such as the Lincoln and the sprint on All Weather Champs Day on Good Friday.

Fresh off riding his first ever winner on the Tapeta at Newcastle, Adam Kirby quickly doubled-up despite finding himself on the unfavoured far side.

He's now four from five on the all weather and looks a Group performer in waiting - he won with more in hand than the margin suggests.
