Today’s free horse racing tips: Lingfield, Fontwell, Wetherby and Newcastle – Steve Mullen’s betting preview for Friday, March 29

WETHERBY FRIDAY

2.20

DENMEAD has had a breathing operation since finishing third over hurdles in a better race than this at Haydock last time out. He was a good third here earlier after winning on his debut over timber at Huntingdon.

His best form would be good enough for this.

Something wasn’t right with Constancio last time when he ran out at Musselburgh. He won well at Doncaster earlier and the first-time cheekpieces should help.

Wapping was a useful handicapper on the Flat and is worth a market check on this hurdling debut.

2.50

LAS TUNAS has been consistent this season and was on the premises again at Catterick last time out. That was on the back of another good run at Newcastle and a win at Ayr. He is happy with this distance and can be relied on to run his race.

Cool Valley has been hitting the crossbar and was third at Musselburgh last time after finishing second at the same track. He is still a maiden over fences but could bag another place.

Perfect Leader got his act together to win at Leopardstown last time and has a chance despite an 8lb rise in the weights.

FALCON SUN was going well before falling three out at Newbury last time in what looked a better race than this. That came after back-to-back wins at Leicester with the latest from 5lb lower in the weights. He likes this trip and is capable of bouncing back.

Suggestion has gone well here before and won at Haydock before something wasn’t right at Donny last time. He’s up the weights but this track suits and he’s a contender.

Grey Diamond has shown some promise in novice events and starts handicapping from what could be a lenient mark.

FLOWERY was impressive when winning on his chasing debut at Sedgefield by 15 lengths and has more to offer. He is a quirky type but has been on his best behaviour for a long time and a 10lb rise in the weights won’t stop him.

Astracad battled on well to win at Newcastle last time and has plenty of stamina for this distance. He has crept up the weights but should run well.

Henry’s Joy is in good nick and was third at Musselburgh off this mark last time after winning there. The first-time blinkers may help a little too.

4.30

THEATREBAR is tumbling down the weights and has been found a good chance for a win by the Skelton team. He wasn’t disgraced at Uttoxeter last time and is now below his last winning mark.

Simply A Legend came back from three years off to finish a good second here last time and has been given a sensible break since then. He likes this trip and looks the main danger.

Dubai Angel was a solid third at Ayr last time and is another who has has some help from the handicapper.

5.05

ALL ABOUT YOU was a good second on his debut at Carlisle last time out. He was green but improved as the race went on and he has more to offer.

Any market move for one of the newcomers would be interesting with Old Jeroboam related to winners over jumps.

5.35

ALWAYS ON THE RUN likes to go from the front and should be able to pull off those tactics in this small field. He just about gets home over this trip and was a solid third at Ludlow last time out.

Marinero was a fairly distant fourth at Ludlow latest but he did win a decent race at Ascot this time last year so is capable of better.

Ravished has won in the pointing field since his last run under Rules, which came at Market Rasen in August. He would have to improve a lot on that to figure.
