Emil Meek fancies a scrap with Mickey Gall, Sage Northcutt or CM Punk (if he’s still alive…)
Norwegian debutant impresses at UFC 206 and calls for a high-profile follow-up after defeating Jordan Mein in Toronto

AFTER his impressive victory over Jordan Mein on his UFC debut, Viking warrior Emil ‘Valhalla’ Meek said he fancies a scrap with Mickey Gall, Sage Northcutt or even CM Punk.
The Norwegian, who rose to prominence with a 45-second battering of former UFC submission ace Rousimar Palhares for Venator FC earlier this year, made his long-awaited Octagon debut at UFC 206 in Toronto.
And against the returning Jordan Mein Meek showed the sort of fighting spirit that will make ‘Valhalla’ a cult hit with the fans.
After the bout, Meek chatted with UFC backstage reporter Megan Olivi, where he revealed his thoughts on his performance.
"I managed to pull it off. Managed to get my win. Managed to get my dream come true. It feels amazing,” he said.
"I rocked him a couple of times - almost dropped him. I’m a Viking. I’ve got good power in my hands.”
And after his win Meek says he knows exactly what he’d like to do next - take on one of the welterweight division’s more recognisable names on European soil.
“I heard something about Europe somewhere, and it would be amazing to fight in Europe, because that’s somewhere close to my home town.
"And you’ll get even more supporters over there. Valhalla Army is so strong.
"So somewhere in Europe against a Top 10 guy, or maybe Mickey Gall or Sage Northcutt, or if CM Punk’s still alive, I would love to fight one of those.”
A bout with the winner of the bout between Gall and Northcutt at UFC Fight Night in Sacramento next weekend certainly makes sense.
And you can bet the European MMA fans would love the prospect of seeing the all-action Viking in action on this side of the pond.
