Jorge Masvidal claims fastest KO in UFC history after flying knee flattens Ben Askren in just FIVE seconds
JORGE MASVIDAL scored the fastest knockout in UFC history after a flying knee took out Ben Askren in FIVE seconds.
As the bell went for the opening round former street fighter Masvidal flew across the cage connecting with a flying knee to Askren's skull.
Olympic wrestler Askren attempted to telegraph the knee by ducking under and shooting for a takedown, but such was the ferocity of the strike it was over before he knew it.
As "Funky" went for the takedown he was perfectly met with the knee of Masivdal who left his rival out cold and flattened on the canvas.
Masvidal still sunk one more shot onto an unconscious Askren as the referee jumped in to stop the fight.
It proved to be the quickest KO in UFC history, two seconds faster than Duane Ludwig's seven second stoppage against Jonathan Goulet in 2006.
As Askren was left out senseless, Masvidal smacked the canvas taunting his foe after the historic knockout.
Masivdal said: “That dude was talking wild, man, I have to show you there’s consequences sometimes, there’s some bad s*** out there.

“I've got nothing to say about Ben. My mother told me if you've got nothing nice to say about someone don't say anything."
The KO comes after Jairzinho Rozenstrui took just NINE seconds to finish hometown hero Allen Crowder at UFC Greenville last weekend.
