Rio 2016: Daniel Goodfellow was left unappreciated in Tom Daley’s shadow… so who is the Olympic hero?

TOM DALEY was the man of the moment yesterday - despite winning bronze in the men's SYNCHRONISED 10m diving.
We know all about Daley's talent, attitude and struggles - the 22-year-old has been spurred on by the tragic death of his father.
We also know the 5ft 8in Team GB poster boy casts an almighty shadow.
For young partner Daniel Goodfellow, 19, has been criminally eclipsed by his team-mate.
He performed to the same exceptionally high standard as Daley, was just as calm under pressure and just as exuberant upon winning bronze.
So who exactly is the forgotten man?
Cambridge-born Goodfellow moved to Plymouth to begin his diving training about three years ago.
He first shone at the 2011 European Junior Diving Championships, where he won bronze in the 3m Springboard.

In 2013 he hit the big time, making his senior European and World Championships debut and winning gold in his last European Junior Diving Championships.
But an early bloom caught up with the Team GB star, with Goodfellow later admitting going to the World Championships was "too much" for him after peaking in the Juniors a fortnight before.
He told the : "I had a season and a half out because of nerve problems in my shoulder and I couldn't even get in the pool.
"After I got back from injury there was a pre-season camp last October and the coaches said there was an opportunity for someone to do synchro with Tom if they were able to keep up with him.
"I jumped at it. I'd been out for so long I think it motivated me to take the opportunity more.
"When you have the chance to do synchro with Tom, who is a big icon in the sport, there's always going to be a bit of pressure but I was just so happy to be given the opportunity."
Goodfellow's Rio experience is up as, unlike Daley, he will not be competing in the men's 10m on August 19.
But at such a young age we can be sure to see the Olympic hero again.
