Rio Olympics 2016: Medallists Becky James and Katy Marchant want controversial chief Shane Sutton back in GB cycling

BECKY JAMES and Katy Marchant want Shane Sutton back in British Cycling.
The controversial Aussie quit as technical director in April over claims he had made offensive comments about Paralympic riders and female cyclists on the team.
But James and Marchant, who won silver and bronze respectively in the individual sprint in Rio, do not have a bad word to say about him.
Asked if she would like him to return, James said: “Yes. If it wasn’t for him believing in us, we wouldn’t be sat here wearing these medals today.”
Marchant nodded her agreement as the pair spoke at the Adidas Creators base in Rio.
Neither rider has yet given evidence to the independent review set up to investigate Sutton’s conduct.
But Sutton, 59, is said to believe he will be “completely exonerated”.
