Baltimore Orioles short-stop lands right hook on Kansas City Royals man after being struck on the body by foul pitch
WE'VE all heard of baseball, but this is more like base-brawl.
During last night's Major League Baseball showdown between the Baltimore Orioles and the Kansas City Royals, one moment of madness sparked a brawl of epic proportions.
Royals pitcher Yordana Ventura launched one towards Orioles short stop Manny Machedo - striking him on his body.
Not happy with the play, Machedo charged towards the mound aiming a fierce right hook at Ventura.
The pitcher - clearly knowing what is about to happen - throws his cap to the turf before and steadies himself being floored by the powerful punch.
And just like that, a mass brawl ensued, with players from both sides piling on top of the players, in what can only be described as 'bundles'.
Both Machedo and Ventura were ejected from the game following the incident at Oriole Park.
Despite the show of aggression, Machedo's manager lended him his full support.

Referencing his side's Playoffs heartache of two years ago, Royals chief Buck Showalter said: “When you go through the disappointment and heartache we had in 2014 in Kansas City, you have to sit there and take it.
“I think Manny and the team decided not to take it tonight.”
Ahead of the clash between the two sides, Macheda had been struck on the back by a 99-mph fastball, brushed from the plate twice in his previous at-bat and had got into a verbal war with Ventura after his hard hit to left-field was brought back into play due to strong winds.
Naturally, his frustration levels were high, but this was no 'heat of the moment' thing, with Machedo claiming he regretted nothing.
He said: “I don't regret anything. It's part of the game. Reactions fly.
"When somebody's throwing 99 [mph] at you, it's going to hurt. You can ruin someone's career.
"You don't think in that situation. You just react to it. It happened. Whatever happened, happened. You just have to move forward.”
