ANDY MURRAY set up a battle of the past and future as he seeks a record fifth Queen's title.
The world No2 faces Milos Raonic in an Aegon Championships final that could be matched for intrigue off the court by the battle of their new but legendary coaches - Ivan Lendl and John McEnroe, respectively.
Eight-time Grand Slam winner Lendl, 56, quietly saw Murray beat Marin Cilic 6-3 4-6 6-3 with flashes of genius.
And McEnroe, 57, whose seven Slams include three Wimbledon titles, was more vocal as he watched Canadian third seed Raonic smoothly beat Bernard Tomic 6-4 6-4.
Now the all-time greats will enjoy the biggest test so far of their summer appointments.
John McEnroe sees Bernard Tomic return to his man, Canadian Milos Raonic
McEnroe admitted this month he would have loved to coach Murray.
But instead Britain's two-time Slam champion re-appointed Lendl, who lost his two Wimbledon finals in 1986 and 1987.
McEnroe, meanwhile, became grass-court consultant for Canadian fierce-server Raonic.
