Brock Lesnar to send returning Randy Orton to Suplex City at WWE’s Summerslam PPV after jibes over UFC drug bust
The Apex Predator has goaded the MMA heavyweight over his failed doping tests around Mark Hunt fight

'THE BEAST' Brock Lesnar faces Randy Orton at WWE pay-per-view Summerslam on August 21 just weeks after his UFC 200 win over Mark Hunt was marred by two failed drugs tests.
Orton - who has copped two suspensions from the WWE for failed tests - has goaded the heavyweight giant with a "no enhancements needed" jibe and SunSport predicts the Apex Predator will just about live to regret it.
Brock Lesnar's return to UFC was marked by controversy and Randy Orton has used his failed drug tests as a stick to beat him with ahead of their match
Inter-Brand Match
Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton
AFTER coming through the ranks together these two superstars finally face off on PPV – a match “15 years in the making”. Orton drew the battle lines by invading Raw and attacking Lesnar, prompting Lesnar to invade SmackDown and return the favour. And though Brock has been WWE’s most dominant force since breaking Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak it could only take one RKO from “The Viper” to put down “The Beast”.
Sun Sport Says: Orton looks on form since returning from injury, reinvigorated by a showdown with the biggest box office attraction in combat sports. Lesnar looks similarly reinvigorated by his return to the main event. Interest in this match spiked after the twice-suspended Orton took a shot at Lesnar ‘s drug test failure with his now infamous “no enhancement needed” line. Don’t expect WWE to punish Lesnar’s violation though. The smart money’s on “The Beast” defeating Orton and continuing to dominate.
Universal Championship Match
Seth Rollins vs Finn Bálor
WITH the world title gone to SmackDown, Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon announced this brand new championship for Raw. The newly-drafted Bálor then won a fatal 4-way match and defeated Reigns in the same night, earning a match against Rollins to determine the first ever Universal Champion. While Rollins has resorted to mocking Bálor, the “Demon King” has sent Rollins fleeing from ring twice.
Sun Sport Says: Perhaps the promising development of WWE’s brand split so far has been the rise of Finn Bálor’s as a top star on Raw. WWE has been smart by keeping him (mostly) out of the ring and retaining the mystery around the demon character. We predict Rollins to win through a screwy finish, but for Bálor to chase the title and claim at a later date.
World Championship Match
Dean Ambrose (champion) v Dolph Ziggler
WHEN Ambrose and the World Championship became exclusive property of SmackDown, Ziggler won a six-pack challenge to become the new number one contender. “The Showoff” says this is his chance to find his way again and get back to the top of WWE – and this week on SmackDown he proved he means business by laying out Ambrose with a devastating superkick.
Sun Sport Says: The downside of WWE introducing a second top title is that the World Championship already feels less important. Neither Ambrose or Ziggler is convincing as the company’s top guy and though Ziggler’s a talented wrestler, his resurgence into the title picture also comes three years too late. Ambrose should retain the belt and move onto the next challenge.
Women’s Championship Match
Sasha Banks v Charlotte
SASHA defeated Charlotte for the title in a blistering match on Raw just four weeks ago, setting the stage for this big rematch. But even with enforcer Dana Brooke barred from ringside, Charlotte knows plenty of dirty tricks – learned from her father Ric Flair – and trapped “The Boss” in her brutal Figure-8 submission on Raw this week. Could Sasha’s reign be cut short?
Sun Sport Says: Sasha will be looking to make a serious statement with this match – a year after she stole the show in the very same building at NXT TakeOver. Expect big things if the women are given enough time to show their stuff. Sasha should win this to cement her role as the leader of Raw’s women’s division.
John Cena v AJ Styles
THIS dates back to June, when AJ and The Club launched a surprise attack on Cena. AJ defeated Cena at Money in the Bank, then Cena scored a return pinfall in their tag match at Battleground – and put AJ through a table on this week’s SmackDown. Now they’ll face off in this final match to find out who’s the best once and for all.
Sun Sport Says: Cena rarely loses these big deciding bouts – see his red-hot series with Kevin Owens last year – but this could be AJ’s night. With WWE touting the “New Era” it makes sense for AJ – an 18-year veteran, but still a fresh face in WWE – to challenge for the WWE Championship next. And after their forgettable one-on-one match at Money in the Bank, the pressure’s on to live up to their reputations.
U.S. Championship Match
Rusev (champion) v Roman Reigns
WHAT started as a battle for Bulgarian/American superiority turned personal when Reigns accidentally pushed Rusev’s new bride Lana face-first into the wedding cake. The pair faced off in a non-title match on this week’s Raw, with Reigns scoring the victory. But can he do it with the gold on the line?
Sun Says: Reigns has been demoted after his suspension but has found a much stronger connection with fans in this feud – which means they’re not booing him out of the building anymore. But WWE killed the anticipation for this by putting them in a non-title match on Raw. Reigns should at least walk away with the title this time.
Tag Team Championship Match
The New Day (champions) v Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
GALLOWS and Anderson put Big E out of commission three weeks ago by pulling him groin-first into the ring post – giving him a contusion of the “affected area”. The New Day have been testy over Gallows and Anderson’s ball-busting gags ever since – but can they can they get a victory in the bag?
Sun Sport Says: Gallows and Anderson have been on sharp comedy form the past few weeks and are in line to end The New Day’s year-long title reign – but most probably after SummerSlam. Expect The New Day to give Gallows and Anderson some payback where it hurts first.
Enzo Amore & Bigg Cass v Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens
A BATTLE of words between Enzo and Jericho quickly escalated and they were soon exchanging more then insults. Kevin Owens then joined Y2J to form “Jeri-KO” and even things up against “Certified G” Enzo and the seven-footer Big Cass.
Sun Sport Says: Thanks to the stellar microphone work, this has been one of the most entertaining feuds on Raw the past few weeks – and this match should be no different. Rising stars Enzo and Cass will be favourites to win. And as funny as Jeri-KO is, Owens should move onto bigger things following this.
Intercontinental Championship Match
The Miz (champion) v Apollo Crews
CREWS beat Kalisto and Baron Corbin in a triple threat match to challenge for Miz’s championship gold – then hit the “A-Lister” this week on SmackDown with a huge powerbomb.
Sun Sport Says: Crews is the latest randomly selected contender for the IC belt. And while his in-ring work is solid, his personality is nonexistent. Expect The Miz to retain through some crafty shenanigans.
Best of Seven Series
Cesaro v Sheamus
AFTER two matches on Raw – both won by Cesaro – the “Swiss Superman” and “Celtic Warrior” have become fierce rivals. General Manager Mick Foley then announced a best of seven series to start at SummerSlam.
Sun Sport Says: If there’s anything more tedious than the prospect of another Cesaro v Sheamus match, it’s seven of them. Cesaro must be wondering who’s he’s ticked off backstage to be lumbered with this.
Six-Woman Tag Team Match
Becky Lynch, Carmella & Naomi v Eva Marie, Natalya & Alexa Bliss
WHILE the women have been jostling for position on SmackDown, Eva Marie has made herself the centre of attention by interrupting other people’s matches to flaunt her stuff.
Sun Sport Says: The more talented women – Becky, Natalya and Alexa – will do the legwork here, but Eva Marie will likely score the deciding pinfall. WWE’s determined to make her the star of SmackDown’s women’s division no matter what.
