Call of Duty XP: Infinite Warfare multiplayer revealed including rigs, scorestreaks, new maps and modes
The Sun takes a look online at Activision's latest release, and it's an out of this world blast

OVERWATCH has taken the multiplayer gaming world by storm this year... but there's a new sheriff in town in the form of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Activision finally revealed what CoD fans across the world had been waiting for during their XP event in LA today, exactly what their online mode will be like.
The Sun was there for a first-play hands on, and what we saw took our breath away. Quite literally during the space combat...
This action-packed, fast-paced FPS has taken a new twist in a futurist, space environment.
This year's CoD release is quicker than its predecessors, making matches last between 10-15 minutes.
Teamwork is near-imperative, making the game much more enjoyable if you stick with others rather than going rogue by yourself.
Infinite Warfare has taken the best of all the games out there, and filled it into a beautifully developed, brutal bloodbath of a game.
RIGS:
Players have six 'combat rigs' to choose from each with their own skills, abilities, 'payloads' and traits.
These classes include:
- Warfighter: A mobile mid-range gunman
- Merc: A defensive 'tank-style' class protecting others
- FTL: A Guerilla tactics flexible class
- Stryker: A tactical team player, who can deploy items to help others
- Phantom: A sniper-stealth class, gunning down from distance.
- Synaptic: A run and gun attacker
Each rig has three different 'payloads' to choose from. These are abilities such as granting a speed surge, being able to shoot around corners, and splitting bullets.
You also have three traits to pick from. These are buffs, such as health regeneration after taking damage or increasing damage of certain attacks.
Players will choose one 'payload' and one trait, making rigs so customisable that there is hundreds of mix-and-match to choose from.
WEAPONS/EQUIPMENT/CRAFTING AND SCORESTREAKS:
Infinite Warfare not only gives chose through rigs, even weapons and crafting make each player different.
As you progress through the game, you'll collect salvage which allows you to boost the powerfulness of your guns.
You'll start with your basic weapons, before turning them into rare, legendary and epic quality.
As weapons progress, their power will increase, meaning those who invest time and effort into the game will have the best guns available.
Equipment will also be a key use during battles, including stick grenades which attach to your opponent and explode.
There's also a super-cool Black Hole Grenade which creates a vortex, sucking your enemies in, and killing them.
Finally, new scorestreaks are in, such as the R-C8 robot which can go around demolishing the battlefield, or you can hack it and take control.
MAPS/MODES AND MISSION TEAMS:
You'll struggle to find a more diverse range of maps than in Infinite Warfare.
Players will travel from sprawling cities on Earth to planets and moons across the galaxy.
Activision showed off some incredible scenery at XP including a frozen planet, and more importantly Terminal is back, this time set on the Moon.
There is TWO new modes introduced in Infinite Warfare called defender and frontier, which are still to be fully revealed.
And players can join mission teams, a new guild-like squad where you choose one of four from launch.
Each has their own unique challenges and objectives, offering specific cosmetic gear, special gear, and more.
Essentially, Infinite Warfare's multiplayer will have no problems entering into an already packed market, and will take the online world by storm.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be available on November 4th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The game's beta will launch on October 14 for PS4 players who purchase the legacy or digital deluxe editions.
