You can choose to switch on Battery Saver at anytime, or you can set it to automatically kick in whenever your battery is below 20 per cent.

There's an option for it to activate whenever you're using a laptop that's not plugged in too.

So it could come in extremely handy if you're out and about and running low on juice.

A new leaf icon will appear next to the address bar when Energy Saver is on.

The feature works by doing things like limiting background activity and reducing visual effects.

According to , the tech firm says you "may notice changes in gaming and video performance".

Meanwhile, the Memory Saver option frees up memory from tabs you're not using to make performance a lot smoother.

Any inactive tabs will still be visible but they won't be doing anything until you go back to them, when it'll automatically reload.

You'll notice a message in the address bar which tells you whenever Memory Saver is on.

But for sites you want to remain active, you can make them exempt on a special list.
