How to access your BeReal recap video

THAT time of year has swung by again, when social media platforms like BeReal give users a highlight reel of their year on the app.
The Snapchat and Instagram Stories rival, introduced the Recap feature for both Android and iPhone users in 2022.
Where can I find the BeReal Recap?
BeReal's Recap feature was a big hit in 2022.
To find your own, simply open the BeReal app and tap your profile picture in the top-right hand corner.
Next, tap View all my Memories.
Then scroll to the bottom of the Memories page and tap the icon that looks like a computer monitor with sparkles on it.

It will then give you an option to Generate my 2023 video recap - so long as it's nearing the end of the year.
When the video is ready, BeReal needs time to get everything set for viewing.
This means that, after clicking Generate, you'll join a waiting list before you can see your video.
Keep in mind this can take a while.

Your BeReal 2023 Recap will be available until January 31, 2024.
Why can't I see my BeReal Recap?
Just like with other platforms, BeReal's Recap is only available at the end of the year.
This means that the option to create a Recap won't be available all year round - just in the final months.
But should we fast forward to December 2023 and your BeReal Recap still isn't working - try closing and reopening the app and make sure you have a good internet connection.
If that hasn’t worked, check you have the latest version of the app.
If neither of those work, then delete the app and reinstall it.
Make sure that you log back in and give the app time to generate your Recap.
BeReal won't create a recap video for you unless you have posted at least 14 photos this year.

As a side note, users should consider this before watching their Recap: Each Recap video consists of every BeReal photo you've taken that year flashing by very quickly.
If you have any medical issues related to flashing lights or contrasting light and dark patterns, such as photosensitive epilepsy, be careful when watching.
