Xbox Series X owners are just realizing useful feature can save them money on gaming accessories
XBOX Series X users can make use of one of its features to avoid unnecessary extra costs.
The console has backward compatibility features meaning you can play old games on it and you can also use some of your old devices.
That means you might not need a new headset or controller when you get the Xbox Series X.
If you already have Xbox gadgets at home then you could just save your cash and reuse the old ones.
Microsoft even has a long list on its Xbox support page of older accessories that are compatible with the newer console.
It includes some fan favorites like the Xbox Adaptive Controller.
Microsoft states: "Good news—several Xbox One accessories such as controllers and headsets are compatible with Xbox Series X|S.
"If you’re not seeing your accessory on this list, check the device manufacturer’s website for more info."
The tech giant makes a point of highlighting: "The Kinect sensor and Kinect Adapter have been discontinued.
"You can still use your Kinect with your Xbox 360 or Xbox One, but the sensor is not compatible with Xbox Series X|S consoles."

This sets Xbox aside from other popular consoles, like the Nintendo Switch, which requires different accessories than their predecessors.
If you want to use a third-party headset with the Xbox Series X, you might need to do some updating.
Microsoft says: "Some gaming headsets that use an optical cable may require a firmware update to support game and chat audio over USB on Xbox Series X|S.
"Soundbars and headsets that don’t receive updates may be connected directly to your TV’s optical port."
Old compatible devices don't necessarily mean you should avoid investing in new accessories entirely.
The Xbox Series X controller is slightly redesigned and has some new features.
