Here’s how much the Nintendo Switch costs, so start putting money in the piggy bank

Since Nintendo announced the Switch last year, there have been many a report suggesting just how much it will cost.

During a special live-streamed event, the Japanese gaming giant has finally revealed the total Nintendo Switch price.

Thankfully, you won't have to save up many pennies as the Nintendo Switch only costs $299.99.

Although we don't have a recommended retail price for here in the UK, the current exchange rate means we're looking at spending about £250 on the Nintendo Switch UK price.

That's the same price at the new PS4 Slim console and the new Xbox One S, making this a very competitive price point for Nintendo's new console.

However, we'll have to wait and see how much UK retailers officially charge for the Nintendo Switch, as in Europe its up to the retailers to set the RRP for any Nintendo hardware.

You've only actually got two months until you'll be able to get your hands on one as the launch date is set for March 3, 2017.

However, it looks like you might want to get your pre-orders in now as supplies will be limited at launch - at least that's what the retailers are suggesting.

 

The Nintendo Switch is quite a new direction for Nintendo, taking the company on a new path - just as it did with the NES back in the day, the N64 and the Wii too.

Hopefully, this new hybrid console, which is a mix of portability and power with a special home console converting dock, will challenge what it means to be a games console.

Nintendo's luck hasn't been great recently with its last console, the Wii U, failing to achieve significant sales success, especially compared to the Wii before it.
