GTA 6 DELAYED until 2026 as Rockstar game bosses reveal reason for release date push-back in ‘humbling’ apology message
Highly-anticipated new game was meant to be released in autumn 2025
GTA fans have been dealt a fresh blow as creators have revealed the brand new game is officially delayed until next year.
Bosses at Rockstar Games said they are "very sorry" that the highly-ancitipated GTA 6 will be released later than expected.

"We need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve," the firm said.
The gaming giant had planned to unleash the next title in autumn 2025.
But it will now come out on May 26, 2026.
Gamers have waited more than ten years for a new main title in the hugely successful series which has sold hundreds of millions of copies worldwide.

The last in the main series, GTA 5, was released back in 2013 and has sold over 200million units.
Rockstar first released a trailer for GTA 6 in 2023, after it was leaked early online.
Fans of the game have been fearing a delay might be on the cards for sometime due to a lack of updates from the company.
And many expect there to be further release date push backs.

"Suddenly it makes perfect sense as to why we didn't hear literally anything about the game like 5 months before the release window," one person wrote on Reddit.
"I think it might get another delay and get an October 2026 release date," another said.

A third added: "I'm actually gonna be sick."
The full announcement from Rockstar reads: "We are very sorry that this is later than you expected.
"The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team.
"We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.
"With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception.
"We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve."
