APPLE fans will be treated to a range of new iMacs that are even cheaper than before.

Tim Cook announced some hefty updates and cheaper models - which are shipping TODAY - at its World Wide Developer Conference.

Apple also today updated MacBook and MacBook Pro with faster processors, added faster SSDs to MacBook and introduced a new £1,249 13-inch MacBook Pro.

He said the new iMacs have the "best Mac displays ever made" with the faster ever processor, higher memory and superfast storage.

And starting at $1,049 - they are the cheapest they have ever been.

There is also a 4k model at $1,299, and a pricier version that starts at $1,799.

It's not clear what price it will be in the UK when they begin shipping here - but Apple is known for not making much of a conversion.

The MacBook Pro and MacBook Air - widely rumoured to be canned - are available to order on the Apple website or instore in the US from tomorrow.

"With major updates to iMac, and a refresh of our MacBook and MacBook Pro lines, the Mac is stronger than ever," said John Ternus, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering. “Today iMac gets a huge graphics performance increase, faster CPU performance, Thunderbolt 3 and a brighter Retina display with support for 1 billion colors. We're also increasing CPU and SSD speed on MacBook, adding faster processors and making faster graphics standard on our 15-inch MacBook Pro and introducing a new $1,299 13-inch MacBook Pro."

What's new for iMacs and MacBooks?

iMac Pro

Apple today gave a sneak peek of iMac Pro, an entirely new workstation-class product line designed for pro users and it's scheduled to ship in December starting at $4,999.

The all-new iMac Pro features a 27-inch Retina 5K display, up to 18-core Xeon processors and up to 22 Teraflops of graphics computation into a stunning new space gray enclosure, and it's the most powerful Mac ever made.

Apple today updated its iMac line with up to three times more powerful graphics, faster processors, Thunderbolt 3, faster storage options and brighter Retina displays, and added a Retina 4K display and discrete graphics to the $1,299 21.5-inch iMac. And it’s available to order today and in stores Wednesday - if you live in the US.
MacBook & MacBook Pro

Apple today refreshed its MacBook and MacBook Pro line with faster Kaby Lake processors.

It will have up up to 50 percent faster SSDs and supports up to twice the memory and the 15-inch MacBook Pro now comes standard with more powerful discrete graphics, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro adds a new $1,299 configuration. And they’re available to order today and in stores Wednesday.
macOS

Apple today previewed macOS High Sierra, the latest version of the world’s most advanced desktop operating system, delivering new core storage, video and graphics technologies that pave the way for future innovation on the Mac, coming this Autumn as a free software update in the Mac App Store.

macOS High Sierra offers an all-new file system, support for High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) and an update to Metal, Apple’s advanced graphics technology.

The update also includes refinements to Photos, Safari and Mail.

Apple offered a sneak peek of its mega Mac, the all-new iMac Pro.

It will have a 27-inch Retina 5K display, up to 18-core Xeon processors and up to 22 Teraflops of graphics computation, making it the most powerful Mac ever made.

But at $5,000 - it's definitely for professionals only.

Apple has been making lots of juicy announcements during its annual developer conference.

It has shown off a new version of the software which powers iPhones and iPads as well as an upgrade for Apple Watch.
