‘Sexy’ fighting game Dead or Alive 6 ‘toned down for #metoo generation’ confirms director
Rumours the PlayStation version have been censored are false -- ALL versions will have the same content that waas created with the #metoo generation in mind, according to the game's director
THE Dead or Alive series is known as much for its female characters and their preposterous physiques.
The game has even been known for the programming of specific exaggerated "breast physics" -- but not this time.

Dead or Alive 6 is the latest iteration in the franchise that has been going since 1996
The game's director and producer, Yohei Shimbori, admitted that the #metoo movement and other shifts in society since Dead or Alive 5 was released in 2012 had affected the game's development.
"Of course you have to keep in mind how the world changes," he told Sun Online.
A new engine means that the game will feature a more realistic physics system to previous titles in the series, although rumours that the new system removed any breast movement at all proved to be incorrect.
"You have to make sure long-time fans still enjoy the game, but we try to balance that with the current view of the world -- but fans still come first" Shimbori said.

DEAD OR ALIVE 6 HANDS-ON
DEAD OR ALIVE is still great fun to play in its sixth major iteration.
The controls are sharp, the levels and characters look great, and it does look set to deliver what fans of the series' gameplay love.
Yes, the costumes can still verge towards the ridiculous and sexualised, even by the genre's usual standards--but customisation options mean it's also possible to make them significantly more conservative too, if you want.
Some of the fighter's outfits will degrade as they take damage -- one we came across lost a section of midriff mid battle -- so it's not like the game has lost all of its edge.
The silliness isn't just about the outfits too -- levels where you can send you opponent crashing through objects or even have them attacked by dinosaurs keep things entertaining and add an interesting edge to combat.
The new expanded tutorial systems also look like they combine with the simple hit-throw-grab control system that define the series to make a really accessible game.
It's not as ridiculously sexualised as some games in the series -- it is a world away from the Xtreme spin-offs -- but it seems like it will be great fun to get to grips with.

Shimbori also addressed concerns that some fans had aired that restrictions from Sony would impact on Dead or Alive 6, as they had for the recent Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet.
That game saw two items removed from the PlayStation version -- a fan that could be used in certain modes specifically to lift up female character's skirts and "Softening Gel" which made female characters' breasts even bouncier than normal with the exaggerated physics model.
"We developed something that fits with the modern world view, which means we can release the same content on all platforms, all around the world," Shimbori confirmed.
All of this is very tame compared to what can be found on other platforms, however.
