‘Ruin is coming’ to Fortnite as Epic posts ominous teaser
Mysterious image appeared on Twitter and in game, with few clues as to what it might mean

EPIC do love a good tease, as evidenced by their latest update to Fortnite fans.
A mysterious in-game message reading 'Ruin is coming' and accompanied by an ominous picture and three question marks has appeared, alongside a tweet showing the same image.
A pair of red glowing eyes, possibly peeking out through a helmet are visible, along with what might be a pauldron to the right-hand side.
Some fans were quick to mock the company on Twitter after the announcement following a recent bout of unpopular changes to the game's all-conquering battle royale mode.
"Ruin already came," said one, with another "Ruin has already come in the form of a s***ty patch".
The most popular theory is that the Ruin referenced and pictured is a skin to be revealed next week.
One Twitter user pointed to the image a leaked pickaxe extracted by datminers from a recent patch that looks to have some similarities with the ominous visage.
This backs up the idea of Ruin being a skin players can don in-game, given that higher-end outfits like this tend to come with matching accessories.
The high profile nature of the tease does suggest there is more to it than that, though.

It is possible that the emergence of this fiery beast will accompany some more changes to the world, possibly from the volcano that destroyed Wailing Woods.
We certainly don't think it has anything to do with Prince Harry, but you never know.
Either way, we'll find out next week -- but we'll keep you updated on any more clues they drop in the meantime.
