TUI to restart long-haul holidays next month to Cuba, St Lucia and Antigua – which are all on the UK safe list

TUI is restarting long-haul holidays to Caribbean destinations Cuba, St Lucia and Antigua next month.

All three destinations remain on the UK's travel corridor list, meaning you won't have to quarantine when back in the country.

However, there are some restrictions in place for each destination.

For Antigua and St Lucia, you will have to have a negative coronavirus test to enter, taken no more than seven days before travelling.

Cuba does not require a negative coronavirus test, but must travel only on chartered flights to Cayo Coco, Cayo Cruz, Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Santa Maria, or Cayo Largo del Sur, as well as Varadero from October 15.

Brits who are happy to get a negative test or to fly to the designated areas will be able to enjoy a winter holiday away from the UK.

TUI's Caribbean destinations restart from November, with flights to Cuba from Manchester to Varadero on November 1.

Flights from London Gatwick to St Lucia launch on November 3, followed by Manchester to St Lucia on December 24 - perfect to spend Christmas in luxury.

Antigua holidays resume on November 5, with flights operated by British Airways, with Gatwick flights starting from January 10, 2021.

The tour operator has launched their Travel with Confidence scheme, which includes overseas medical assistance if you get COVID-19 on holiday, as well as free amendments if you have to change your holiday due to coronavirus or because the destinations travel advice changes.

They explain: "If we know a destination or hotel is asking people to quarantine when they arrive in the country, for any length of time, we simply won’t go there.

"If you have to quarantine when you return home, you’ll have the option to change your holiday, as we don’t expect you to do this."

Any bookings before December 31 are eligible for the free amendment, on holidays between November 1, 2020 and April 30, 2021, as long as it is no later than 21 days before travel.

Here is the full list of destinations where you don't have to quarantine on arrival or back in the UK - and there are just 10 countries left open to Brits.

The UK government has launched a taskforce to look into new methods such as airport testing to reduce the time required to quarantine when returning from high-risk countries.

New testing methods could reduce the 14 days to just four days, with a test before and after.
