LET’S get the Easter show on the road!
You can, literally, if you hire a motorhome for the Bank Holiday weekend.
That is just one of the fabulous breaks still available to book for next weekend.
You can also tuck into your chocolate eggs while chilling in a country hotel, sunbathing abroad or spending a day out with dinosaurs and caterpillars.

Train takes the strain
HOP across the Channel for a treat in the Hauts-de-France region.
Chocolatier Maison Jean Trogneux in Amiens is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Look out for the traditional Easter friture de paques — fish and shell-shaped chocs — and macarons.
The city has a Unesco-listed cathedral — one of France’s most impressive and twice the size of Notre-Dame in Paris — cobbled streets, the house of author Jules Verne, the father of science-fiction, and acres of water gardens.
Byway has a four-day train trip taking in Amiens, Compiegne with its grand castle, and the town of Arras, which has an imposing abbey.

Playa blinder
WITH temperatures pushing into the 20s, sun, sea and sand await in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote.
It is one of the Canaries’ biggest and best-loved resorts, with a smart marina promenade packed full of restaurants for tasty seafood, cocktail bars and boutiques.
Looking for a lively time? Don’t worry, there are plenty of karaoke and disco venues.
The Rio Blanca Hotel, close to Playa Flamingo Beach, has pretty white bungalows dotted around the grounds.
The huge pool in the centre is fringed by palm trees and foliage, in contrast to the volcanic soil landscape of nearby Timanfaya National Park, which covers a quarter of the island. Take a guided walk, camel ride or coach trip.

Taste of sunshine
CHOC till you drop in Palma — and don’t bother packing Easter eggs.
Head to chocolatier Bomboneria Leonidas, which has been making treats for more than 100 years.
Eat tapas and drink sangria in one of the Majorcan old town’s many cafes, visit the stunning cathedral and walk the city walls.
The 4H Alua Palmanova Bay, half an hour away, sits at the top of a hill with beautiful views of the Bay of Palma, a short stroll from golden sands, beach bars and watersports. There’s a pool, climbing wall, archery, playground and live shows.
The hotel is perfectly placed, a ten-minute walk from the family friendly seaside resort of Palma Nova and bustling Magaluf, which is a haven for nightlife.

Home from home
TAKE the kids — and the dog — and hit the road.
Renting a motorhome is all the rage. With campsite pitches from around £20 a night, it’s a good option for a budget break.
You can hire four and six-berth vans, with kitchens and showers, from around the country over the Easter weekend from April 15. And, if worried about the cost of fuel, just stay close to the pick-up point.
From Southampton, you can visit the New Forest in a van sleeping four from £332. If you’ve got kids, visit Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig, which has Hoppy Easter events running until April 26.
Larger families can rent a six-berth luxury camper in Pembrokeshire from £490. Your dog is welcome too. Many local attractions are dog-friendly, including medieval Pembroke Castle.

Life of luxury
SPOIL yourself at a country hotel with a treat package for couples or families.
At Grade II-listed Horwood House, near Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, you can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea, giant Easter Sunday egg hunt, great dining — with kids under 12 eating free — and a heated indoor pool, gym and spa.

Booty and the beasts
FOR an egg hunt with a difference, visit Dino Kingdom at West London’s Gunnersbury Park.
It is open until April 18 and you’ll meet the “king of the tyrant lizards”, an a 50ft Tyrannosaurus Rex. Search for non-chocolate eggs in an excavation sand pit, walk through the fossil tunnel and see hatching babies, crocodiles, frogs and spiders.
Also in West London, a tinier creature has crawled into Kew Gardens until April 18.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar interactive trail, based on the popular children’s book, creates the journey of the caterpillar from egg to butterfly.

The good life
YOU’LL eat well next bank holiday weekend if you stay at Park Life Resorts on the north Devon coast.

Visit the new St James Quarter for shops, restaurants and facilities including bowling and a cinema.
This year is the 75th anniversary of the Edinburgh festivals and one of them is being held at Edinburgh Science until April 24. See .

Alice in Jungleland
LONGLEAT House is getting ready for a cracking time with Alice In Wonderland.
The Wiltshire estate celebrates the reopening of the house with new guided tours and exhibitions.
The pandemic forced it to shut for two years, the longest closure since the property opened in 1949.
Stroll through the Elizabethan Great Hall and rooms, then step into the magical world of Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, until April 24.
Meet Alice, the Cheshire Cat and friends, join the Mad Hatter in the orangery, play crazy golf in Tulgey Woods and hunt for giant eggs hidden around the main park.
Then, on a drive-through safari, talk to giraffes, camels, rhinos, wolves, cheetahs and monkeys.
Hop aboard the Jungle Cruise and find the first koala to be born in Europe, in Koala Creek.

Ears a wild treat
NEW outdoor adventure park BeWILDerwood Cheshire marks its first Easter weekend with family fun until April 18.
The Pesky Bunnies Easter Eggs-pedition will be on stage several times a day and you can follow a trail to find giant eggs in the forest.
Paint your face to look like a rabbit and make ears in the craft tent — all included in the ticket price.
The park, next to Cholmondeley Castle, is the second woodland extravaganza based on the book series by author Tom Blofeld. BeWILDerwood Norfolk, near Hoveton, also has Easter events.
