A JET2 passenger was left stunned after they ordered a meal during the flight - and received something that looked nothing like the picture.

A TikTok user who goes by the name "teganinsleyox" revealed that she ordered a sandwich on their flight to Marbella, which had cheese and rocket inside it.

The picture in the Jet2 menu showed a very full sandwich - which wasn't what turned up.

Instead, the sandwich had just a few pieces of salad in it, with a tiny bit of cheese smeared underneath.

The video was captioned: "Jet2 did us dirty with our food on the plane".

She explained on her account: "We hadn’t eaten in 5 hours due to the check in / security queues, so ended up shoving a tube of Pringles in the bread because we were so hungry."

Lots of other people shared their own awful plane food, often comparing it to the Fyre Festival food.

One person said: "I ordered a cheese and pickle one on my flight to Greece with Jet2 and there was 1 slither of cheese and the smallest bit of pickle. I’m still sad."

Someone else wrote: "Once got a cheese and ham toastie was more of a warm sandwich with a Kraft cheese slice.

Others were less sympathetic - one said: "Definition of first world problems, you could have brought food to the airport!"

A Jet2 spokesperson said: "We're proud to deliver an award-winning experience from the moment people start their holidays with us, including our in-flight food and drinks.

"Our in-flight meals consistently receive great feedback from customers, we’d like to apologise to the customer for any inconvenience caused on this isolated occasion. We will look into this with our supplier."

Last month, an easyJet passenger was also left shocked after paying £5 for the "worst airline food ever".

Alex was flying from Paris to London Gatwick when he was ordered a roasted vegetable and houmous baguette.

The Londoner couldn't believe his eyes when the stewardess served him his plane food, which was sparse from any filling whatsoever.
