Jet2 issues new travel warning for Brits going on holiday this summer

JET2 has issued a new travel warning for Brits heading abroad this summer.

The tour operator updated their social media to warn against common scams.

Jet2 advised that one of the common scams includes offering Covid tests, so to ignore any emails or texts that suggest they do.

They wrote: "We do not arrange PCR tests or Fit to Fly documents directly with customers, please do not respond to requests for this."

They also warned holidaymakers to "only book Jet2.com flights orJet2holidays directly" with them or via their ABTA trade partners to avoid being scammed.

Other advice from Jet2 was to ignore any 0203 numbers from them, as this is not their contact number, as well as to never purchase Jet2 credit notes on social media.

They added: "Only contact us using the methods shown on the Contact Us pages on the Jet2.com and Jet2holidays websites."

Earlier this year, TUI also issued a travel warning about common scams that were targetting Brits.

The travel operator claimed some of its customers have received from an unknown account, asking them to send personal information in an email.

TUI warned people not to respond to the tweet or to send any details to the email address, and to contact them if they are unsure whether it's genuine.

Here are some other common travel scams, according to a fraud expert.

In Spain, a new bird poo scam has caught tourists out while a number of tourists in Greece have been caught out by a very expensive restaurant scam.

And one man said he was nearly charged for broken furniture after booking a place to stay in a fake fine scam.

A number of Brits have been caught out by UK staycation scams as well.

A young family was left heartbroken and hundreds out of pocket after 'booking' a last-minute staycation - only to turn up and find out it wasn't real.

And a woman was left stunned after more than 100 tourists turned up at her home - claiming they had booked it for a holiday after falling for the scam.
