Inside the UK’s first billion-pound hotel – with vintage Rolls-Royce cars, fancy suites and cigar rooms

THE first hotel that cost more than £1billion to build has opened in the UK - after taking more than 30 years.
The Peninsula London opened earlier this year, the first of the brand to open in the country.
The original Peninsula, opened Hong Kong back in 1928, now dubbed the Grand Dame of the East.
Other hotels have since followed suit in Turkey, Thailand and New York.
And back in September, the London Peninsula opened, with the five-star hotel found near Hyde Park Corner.
Following the grandeur of their other hotels, guests are whisked to the hotel by one of Rolls-Royce cars in their fleet, although sadly the Peninsular London is one of the only ones to not have a helipad (due to the proximity to Buckingham Palace).

There is also the Canton Blue, serving Cantonese cuisine, Brooklands by Claude Bosi serving "modern British" on the rooftop or the Peninsular Boutique and Cafe.
Bars include the "intimate" Little Blue while The Tasting Room is the hotels's own cigar lounge.
Inside are 190 rooms, ranging from the deluxe room to the 6th floor Peninsular Suite, that has a private terrace overlooking the park as well as a baby grand piano.

Sonja Vodusek, Managing Director of The Peninsula London. “This beautiful hotel has been a complex and creative project, many years in the making.
"The Peninsula searched for the perfect location in London for over three decades, and now after much craft, care and consideration, and through the dedication of our people we hope our hotel will stand out not only in London but globally for generations to come.”
You'll have to start saving, however - rooms start from £1,300 a night.
Despite only being open a few months, guests have already raved about the hotel on TripAdvisor.
One person wrote: "This is the Place to see and to be seen."
Another agreed: "Without exception the staff were warm, attentive and completely charming."
A third wrote: "From the moment you walk through the grand doors you are transported into a world of spectacular opulence."
The original Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong is a cheaper option, with it starting from around £440 a night.
And it even featured in a James Bond film - the 1974 classic The Man With The Golden Gun, which seems Roger Moore chase down one of the Bond girls at the hotel.
