Visit the Canary Islands in January for 21C temperatures – with cheap winter sun holidays on sale for under £200
BRITS could leave the January blues behind by visiting the sun-kissed Canaries next month.
The islands will still be blessed with 21C temperatures, and there are cheap holiday deals up for grabs from just £187pp.
In January, the Spanish islands have temperatures ranging from 18C to 23C, and they're only four hours away from the UK.
Going to the beach will still be an option; however, this is the best time to explore the rest of the islands too.
The islands have an average of six hours of sunshine, with sunrise around 8am and sunset hitting around 6:30pm.
Gran Canaria has a variety of scenery, from dunes to deep woods, while Tenerife's Mount Teide, Spain's highest mountain, can be hiked.
The distinct volcanic landscape of Lanzarote and the immaculate beaches of Fuerteventura are also must-sees.
Those visiting Tenerife will also enjoy the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival celebrations, with parties, parades and balls.
Tenerife was even voted the 'Carnival Capital of the World', beating Rio and Notting Hill in London.
A lesser-known fact about the Canaries is that they're one of the best places to go stargazing in the northern hemisphere.

This is because there is very little pollution around the islands, and there are night tours guided by local experts.
Tenerife's Teide National Park is one of the best spots for stargazing and hiking.
