WHEN you think of Orlando, you think of theme parks, in particular Disney World and Universal.

But right by the parks is a huge beach resort - despite it being a landlocked city.

Evermore in Orlando opened last year as the city's "only beach resort".

And its main attraction is its massive Evermore Bay.

With 20 acres of man-made sandy beach and eight acres of water, guests can even rent kayaks and paddle-boards to get across it.

It also has a huge slide and rope swing, as well as dedicated swim zones.

Only open to Evermore guests, you can choose from sunloungers to cabanas if you fancy a more laid-back visit.

In the evening there is live entertainment, including music, and fire pits for toasting marshmallows.

Annual events include the Evermore Bay Games on Labour Day, where guests can compete to win a free stay at the resort, as well as Halloween balls, Thanksgiving buffets and boat-riding Santas at Christmas.

There are so many monthly activities that there is no chance of getting bored.

Along with classic fitness and sports activities, some of the more unusual ones include lightsaber fitness and mimosa yoga.

More low-key activivities include Acotar Paint & Sip, phone photography classes and even sand building exercises.

Kids will love the Nintendo Switch tournaments, Anime socials and ping pong contents.

And the sprawling 1,100 acre complex has 10,000 bedrooms on-site.

This includes the main Conrad hotel, which has 433 rooms and onsite restaurants and pools.

Or there are private holiday homes and villas, ranging from two to 11 bedrooms.

Golfers can take advantage of the two courses as well as golf camps.

And there are 12 restaurants, cafes and bars on-site, ranging from quick options like pizza and burgers or full-service diners serving Italian, Caribbean and Mexican cuisine.

Still need your fix of the theme parks? The resort is next door to Walt Disney World and just 20 minutes from all of Orlando's other major attractions.

Families have raved about the resort, with many praising it for being good for large groups on holiday.

One person said it "felt like a far away paradise," despite having easy access to the nearby attractions.

Another person said they felt like it was a tropical resort with the cabanas "reminding them of the Maldives".

In the mean time, Disney World has revealed a number of huge new attractions set to open across the parks.
