Base yourself at this Bournemouth pad to explore seaside town and attractions

WHAT’S IT LIKE?
A classic seaside town hotel, just a stone’s throw from Bournemouth beach and the town centre.
It caters for everyone but was spot-on for my stay with my wife and two girls, aged two and four.
ROOMS ANY GOOD?
Our family room was big and had lovely sea views.
A huge plus was that the girls’ shared sofa bed was in an adjoining room so at bedtime, we could close the door and retreat to our own room.
WHAT ELSE?
East Cliff guests can make use of the facilities at the Hallmark Bournemouth Carlton right next door.
Our girls went mad for the indoor pool.
It is also the perfect base to investigate nearby child-friendly attractions such as the excellent Paultons Park theme park – complete with Peppa Pig World – and Bournemouth’s Oceanarium, home to 300 species.
EAT HERE OR GRAB A PIZZA?
The on-site Hallmark Restaurant served up solid if not spectacular fare.
A quick mention for the breakfast buffet – it had sausages and bacon that were nicely browned rather than the sad, soggy options hotels often serve.
SO YOU’D GO BACK?
Absolutely. It suited our needs perfectly and the staff were all lovely.
WHAT’S THE DAMAGE?
It’s from £102.60 per night for a family room. A standard double is from £84.60, while a sea-view double is from £102.60.
Prices include breakfast. Book at or call 0330 028 3412.
