THE winning entries of the Historic Photographer of the Year Awards were unveiled today.
These beautiful photos celebrate places with history across the globe, capturing treasures such as the House of Commons and an ancient fort in Rajasthan.

The winners of the awards were unveiled today by broadcaster and historian Dan Snow at an awards ceremony at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, London.
This year’s competition has attracted astonishing entries from amateurs and professionals who have climbed, hiked and trekked their way to snap stunning historic places from every corner of the globe, from iconic landmarks to far-flung forgotten ruins.
The overall winning image of the medieval island commune of Mont Saint-Michel was shot by Daniel Burton. He took home the £1,000 prize.
