Star Wars: The Mandalorian show boss admits George Lucas gave team a ‘hard time’ on Disney+ set

STAR Wars: The Mandalorian show boss Jon Favreau has admitted George Lucas gave the team a 'hard time' on the Disney+ set.
George, 76, created Star Wars back in the 1970s, with the first ever film, A New Hope, being released in 1977.
While George sold his LucasFilm company to The Walt Disney Company in 2012, he still acts as a creative consultant on Star Wars-related projects, including the Disney+ series which premiered last year.
The show returns for its second season next month and Jon has recalled a moment when George visited the set and gave executive producer Dave Filoni a hard time as he directed an episode.
George had previously worked with Dave and Jon recalled to Entertainment Weekly: "He would be giving Dave a hard time about how many setups he was getting and how fast he was shooting and urging him to go faster.
"He was like a boxer's cornerman coaching him, but always with a twinkle in his eye."
While George has been on set, Dave previously told The Hollywood Reporter he didn't have a lot of feedback when he first watched the series, which is set in the years after Return of the Jedi.
He said: "Not a tremendous amount. We talk about other stuff.
"When I talk with him, I like to get more knowledge. He'll give me some reminders, especially before I shoot something, about how many setups I should try to get in a day, and I might rack his brain for certain things about how to cover a scene.
"He's been very complimentary. I think he's enjoyed the show, and he said once [that] now he gets to watch it as a fan and watch it as a viewer.

"My job is to bring that knowledge forward and pass on what I've learned from him in every discipline to Jon and to the creative departments."
Meanwhile Jon has also teased what fans can expect from season two, telling Entertainment Weekly: "The new season is about introducing a larger story in the world.
"The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show."
The Mandalorian season two premieres on Disney+ on October 30.
