The Mandalorian fans call for Gina Marano to be fired after string of ‘irresponsible’ anti-mask tweets

DISNEY+ has been urged to drop Gina Marano from The Mandalorian after a series of controversial Instagram posts.
The actress, who plays Cara Dun on the Star Wars series, is no stranger to online scandal, often ruffling feathers on Twitter.
Earlier this year she was accused of mocking the trans community by changing her pronouns in her description to "beep / bop / boop" - although she insisted that she was instead trying to take a swipe at "mob mentality."
Now she has sparked fresh complaints with her thoughts on the US election, as well as coronavirus guidance to wear a mask.
"We need to clean up the election process so we are not left feeling the way we do today. Put laws in place that protect us against voter fraud," she wrote earlier this month.
"Investigate every state. Film the counting. Flush out the fake votes.
Require ID. Make Voter Fraud end in 2020. Fix the system."
When asked for evidence of voter fraud by her followers, Carano remained silent, but followed up with a series of memes.

"In a world where everyone wears a mask it's a privilege to see a soul," one post read.
Another quipped: "Democratic leaders now recommend we all wear blindfolds along with masks so we can't see what's really going on."
It didn't take long for criticism to roll in in the comments section.
"Woah, Gina this is extremely irresponsible. If you are referring to the election, there is no proof of any fraud," one follower hit back.
"If you at referring to mask wearing, we should be doing that and if we all did it we would be able to go outside sooner.”

As momentum picked up, #FireGinaCarano even began trending on Twitter.
One livid fan fumed: “She’s spread bats**t conspiracy theories about covid, spread bats**t conspiracy theories about election fraud, and mocked pronouns. She no longer gets the benefit of the doubt.”
Another chimed in: “On a serious note, Disney needs to f***ing do something about this. Gina Carano needs to walk away from The Mandalorian. There’s no place for people like her in the Star Wars community.”

While a third wrote: "Reminder that Disney needs to #FireGinaCarano because all the bulls**t she spews is actively harmful to everyone and she doesn’t deserve a platform to spread it with."
Carano recently revealed that she is now on the app Parler, which is known to be used by conservatives who accuse Twitter of having a left-wing bias.
