THE Syndicate fans tonight praised the series finale as being "better than Line of Duty" after the kennel workers finally got their cash.
The six-part series ended on a high when they received their lottery jackpot winnings, after Frank stole their ticket.
Tonight all the loose ends were tied up, with Frank being jailed for trying to steal their money.
We saw Keeley and the gang finally get their hands on their £27million after chasing the dodgy newsagent to Monaco after he ran off with their ticket.
The ending was mostly happy, with Jake even proposing to Keeling.
However, it did have a dark turn with Gemma revealing she wanted to pay someone to kill her dad, after he was responsible for her mother's death.
Next we saw him being mowed down by a van and Gemma's grandma getting a call to say that the "job had been done".
After a bit of a slow start, fans were thrilled with the ending, and even said it was better than Line Of Duty's season finale on Sunday.
The Jed Mercurio crime thriller disappointed fans at the weekend, when the elusive H was finally revealed.
So tonight fans took to Twitter to compare the two, saying the ending to The Syndicate was much better.
This one tweeted: "Omg this ending is far better than line of duty #TheSyndicate wasn’t expecting that."
While another one said: "Not going to lie that was a twist #TheSyndicate you listening Line of Duty?"
This one commented: "It's depressing that the final of #TheSyndicate is kinda better than #LineOfDuty."
Meanwhile, it is revealed that The Syndicate WILL return for a fifth series.
Each series of The Syndicate tells a different story about a different group of people winning the jackpot and how it affects their lives.
Writer Kay Mellor has revealed that another instalment is on the horizon and has already started thinking of the new plot.
She told the Daily Star: “It took six years for the current series to come
to screen.
"But there’s something cooking. The ingredients are there, so it’s there. But
it’s not cooked up yet.”
The talented scriptwriter, who was awarded a Bafta award in 1997 for Outstanding Writing for Television, has created a string of successful dramas over the past 25 years.
