The Voice season 20 live updates – remaining 9 contestants slashed down to Top 5 ahead of next week’s finale

SEASON 20 of The Voice is inching to its end as the remaining artists will compete in a five-way instant save for a chance to earn the fifth and final spot in the finale.

aired two episodes this week, the first one took take place on May 17, and the second episode tonight to will determine who will be in next week's finale.

The remaining nine contestants sang on Monday in attempt to make it to the finale.

After nearly half of the singers were eliminated, each coach is left with two singers - except for , who has three with Gihanna Zoë, Wheeler and Corey Ward.

Fans can catch the final remaining episodes of The Voice by tuning into NBC on Monday's and Tuesday's at 8pm.

The top vote-getter from each team will automatically earn a spot to compete in the finale, while the remaining artists will compete in a five-way instant save for a chance to earn the fifth and final spot in the finale.

Team 's contestant Cam Anthony scored a spot in the next round after receiving America's vote, while the country singer used his save on Jordan Matthew Young.

Meanwhile, only two of Nick Jonas' contestants- Rachel Mac and Dana Monique - secured their spots in the competition.

's team member Victor Solomon received the most overnight votes, while the coach used his save on Pia Renee.

Viewers also voted for Team Clarkson's contestant Kenzie Wheeler to advance to the next round, while the singer used her save on Gihanna Zoë.

  • TEAM JOHN FINALIST 

    The last two remaining singer on Team John Legend were gospel vocalist Victor and songstress Pia.

    After the vote, it was revealed Victor will represent John’s team in next week’s talent-studded finale. 

    John was pleased with the decision but Pia was understandably upset she is facing elimination. 

  • TEAM NICK FINALIST 

    Dana and Rachel were narrowed down to be the final two for the Jonas Brother’s team. 

    After both delivering impressive performances, Nick was noticeably nervous of who will go through and who stays on the chopping block. 

    Host Carson Daly revealed Rachel was selected by fans leaving Dana will compete in the instant save round. 

  • JAKE AND KELLY SLAY 

    Kelly looked gorgeous as she took the stage with her former contestant, Jake Hoot. 

    The country crooner looked dapper in an all-black suit while Kelly stunned in a black maxi dress. 

    She let out her signature big notes and got a standing ovation from the coaches. 

    Fans were impressed, with many saying the pair sounded “amazing” together. 

  • VIRTUAL REALITY 

    Australian rapper Masked Wolf gave a fiery performance to his new song, Astronaut In The Ocean. 

    He danced around the stage with flames surrounding the stage in the virtual presentation from Down Under. 

    “I felt like I was scrolling through TikTok there,” Carson Daly said of the trendy moves with a confused face following the performance.

  • BLAKE'S FINALIST

    The two talented singers left on the country star’s team were Cam and Jordan. 

    Despite both being fan-favorites, one had to go and Jordan was revealed to be in jeopardy of elimination. 

    Cam appeared ecstatic he was voted through as his coach did - who claimed last night the young singer could win the whole show. 

  • JONAS HOST?

    Nick Jonas joked he was the "best host ever" as he gave The Voice personality Carson Daly a hard time.

    The joke continued after the show, as Nick sat in his red chair with a golden microphone trophy that had a post-it which read "Best Host."

    "Results are happening now but we already know who the Best Host Ever is," he tweeted.

  • WHY DO FANS THINK BLAKE SHELTON IS LEAVING THE VOICE?

    Fans of The Voice fans believe Blake Shelton dropped a hint he will quit the show after 20 seasons in a new interview.

    , 44, appeared on the Today Show recently, where he was Hoda Kotb's co-host for the day.

    After first greeting each other, they began to talk about what kind of life he expects to have once he ties the knot with Gwen, 51.

    "Do you picture yourself in ten years, you and , just out in Oklahoma – not jetting all over the place, do you see yourself living a much simpler life way way down the road?" Hoda asked him.

    Blake answered: "I hope that's not too far down the road. Ten years sounds like way too long to me. I'd like to see that sooner rather than later.

    "I mean, we both pretty much have taken it to the limit as far as our careers go and touring and now the television thing, it's been fortunate to accomplish a lot of things that hopefully at some point we'll get to live some life.

    "I think we're both ready for that honestly."

    He continued to explain that , adding: "The older I get, the more I feel like I'm starting to turn into a little bit of a hermit. Just passing things, except interviews with you, Hoda."

  • FANS SHOW SUPPORT FOR KELLY CLARKSON

    Coach Kelly Clarkson received an outpouring of support from fans during Tuesday's episode of the show.

    After the judge took the stage to sing with former contestant Jake Hoot, viewers rushed to Twitter to express their love for the 39-year-old.

    One person wrote: "We love Kelly Clarkson."

    Another added: "Kelly is perfection."

    A following fan complimented her coaching skills as they wrote: "Kelly your team is looking good."

  • NICK RESPONDS TO BLAKE'S CLAIM THAT HIS INJURY WAS FOR 'SYMPATHY'

    After Nick revealed he got injured during a the 28-year-old spoke with about fellow coach Blake's claims that it was all part of his plan for "sympathy votes."

    Nick told the outlet: "This would've been the most elaborate sympathy vote of all time. I think he is, as always, being a liar.

    The singer then joked Blake may have had something to do with the accident, stating: "He is not the one, but maybe. You never know."

  • JUDGES DISCUSS NEW COACH ARIANA GRANDE

    As the current season of The Voice comes to an end, the judges are preparing to say goodbye to Nick Jonas and hello to new coach Ariana Grande.

    While recently appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, John Legend said: "She has a huge fanbase and if they show up to vote, we’re all in trouble.”

    Meanwhile, Kelly admitted she's "terrified" to compete against the newly married singer.

    Blake added: “I just hope I don’t step on her. Ariana fans, bring it on. I’m not afraid of her fanbase, where they at?”

  • FANS THINKS THE VOICE IS 'RIGGED' TO FAVOR BLAKE SHELTON

    Coach Blake Shelton will have two contestants competing in the finale, meaning he has the biggest chance to win the competition show.

    Following Tuesday's episode, fans took to Twitter to slam the show for "rigging" the show in favor of the country singer.

    One person wrote: "This show is rigged for white men especially country men and even more biased towards blake. no one wants to watch this show anymore bc talent never prevails."

    Fans didn't hold back their disappointment when it was revealed that contestant Gihanna Zoe was not selected to go to the finale.

    Fans took to Twitter to slam the show for overlooking the young contestant, as one person said: " Gihanna *should* get this wild card slot, no question."

    Another added: "Gihanna deserves it and she got more votes than him. stop rigging it it’s about the singing not blake."

    A third added: "Gihanna was robbed."

  • VIEWERS SLAM INSTANT SAVE AS 'A PRANK'

    At the end of Tuesday's episode of The Voice, it was revealed that Team Blake contestant Jordan Matthew Young was heading to the finale.

    After The Voice Twitter account shared a clip of the moment, viewers took to the comments section to wonder if it was a "prank."

    One person wrote: "Still waiting for the actual reveal bc this has to be a prank."

    Masked Wolf visited The Voice on Tuesday to perform his song Astronaut in the Ocean.

    Team Nick Jonas contestant Rachel Mac may have secured her way to the finale, though fans expressed their anger on Twitter following the announcement.

    Many viewers said they think Rachel took to the spot of more deserving contestants, as one person wrote: "I see what they doing. Side eye.....Dana, Pia, and Gianna?"

    Another fan agreed with the first comment, though noted: "I’ve said similar for years but I don’t think it is the show itself. I think it is the demographics of the viewers.     Following Tuesday's episode of The Voice, fans took to Twitter to slam the show for not immediately sending contestant Dana Monique to the finale.

    After admitting he "did not expect to make it this far," Team Blake singer Jordan Matthew Young was voted through by fans.

    Viewers had five minutes to vote between the five contestants who were in danger of elimination.

    Despite having stiff competition, Jordan came out on top after singing a rock classic.

    He appeared thrilled as he buried his face in disbelief and his voice got up on his feet to clap for his finalist.
