Strictly’s Katya Jones hints she has been partnered drag queen RuPaul after making history with same-sex pairing

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Katya Jones has hinted she will be paired with a drag queen - after making history with the show’s first same-sex partner.
The professional dancer has teased that she could be partnering with RuPaul himself for this year’s series in the autumn.
And in the Australian version of the show, Celebrity Big Brother champion Courtney Act competed.
RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage stunned fans when she competed in Strictly in 2019.
But Katya has her eye on the ultimate drag queen for her next partner - RuPaul.
Asked if she would be up for partnering with a woman again, Katya exclusively told The Sun: “I am up for anything, yes!
“Imagine if it’s like a drag queen, that would be amazing. RuPaul himself, now that would be incredible.”
Katya, 32, and Strictly pal Giovanni Pernice, 30, were pictured racing miniature Mini Cooper remote controlled cars around London’s Hyde Park, with the sexy Russian putting her victory down to years of racing cars with her older brother as a kid.
Speaking as she celebrated her win following the launch of Mecca bingo’s brand new raffle, she said: “I just can’t help myself, I’m so competitive.
“I think I definitely took it way too seriously, we even had a mini car crash! When I found out that we would be having a race I was so excited.

“Me and my brother used to race remote control cars all the time, so it brought back all those memories from my childhood.
“And of course, I am so happy to have beaten Giovanni. I know he was a little upset, but in the end he took it quite well.”
Katya made history last year as part of the show’s first same sex couple after being partnered with boxing champ Nicola Adams, 38, and admits that she is already counting down the days until she can start rehearsing again.
She said: “We start back in July, so not long to go.
“I just want my muscles to ache and to be in pain and to be exhausted.
“There was a lot of sacrifices that had to be made last year but we also felt a responsibility to lift the nation’s spirits and I think we did that.
“The fact we managed to put on the show that we did during a world wide pandemic was just incredible.

“We always say we’ll be back even bigger and better next year, which always seems impossible to do but they always do it which makes it all so exciting to be a part of.”
