Max George lined up for Coronation Street role seven years after ex fiancee Michelle Keegan left the soap
STRICTLY star Max George said he's had talks about joining the cast of Coronation Street.
The 32-year-old The Wanted singer, who was once engaged to soap legend Michelle Keegan, said a role in Weatherfield "makes sense".
However, the performer - who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing last year - said he plans to concentrate on becoming a big-screen star.
Max said: "It’s not something that’s ever interested me."
He told the : "There’s been quite a few soaps that my agent and I have had conversations with, but we’ve never seen it through because I just want to focus on films at the moment.
"Coronation Street is only around the corner and I’m a Manchester lad, so it kind of makes sense. I’ve had talks about that, but it’s not something that’s ever interested me.
"For me film is what I want to concentrate on first, but never say never
with anything."

Max is hoping to become a hit in Hollywood, and plans to spend three
months a year working in the US in a bid to land more movie roles.
The Wanted star added that Covid has made it hard to bag work in the States but vowed to return.
Last year, Max - who played Clint in Glee in 2015 - filmed his first movie, Me, Myself and Di.
He played a lifeguard alongside ex-EastEnder Larry Lamb, model Lucy Pinder, and Outnumbered actor Tyger Drew-Honey.
Max was previously engaged to Michelle Keegan, 34, during the time she was on Corrie as Tina McIntyre.
He popped the question in 2011 but they failed to make it down the aisle, going their separate ways a year later.
