Bridgerton TikTok musical creators Barlow & Bear reveal album release date of ‘passion project’ featuring 15 songs

CREATORS of TikTok’s Bridgerton the Musical, Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, revealed on Wednesday they’ve finished an album of 15 songs based on the Netflix period drama.
After going viral on the social media platform earlier this year for their Bridgerton-themed tunes, the duo are finally releasing a full collection of the finalized versions next month.
Known collectively as Barlow and Bear, the composers shared the album artwork on Instagram on Wednesday, noting the title as The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical.
The pair had been keeping fans up to date on the creation of the “passion project” for months, offering behind-the-scenes photos and videos, as well as going live to allow viewers to see their actual creation process.
The release date for the the Musical album is September 10, and Abigail and Emily revealed it will contain 15 songs that they “composed, orchestrated, and produced” in just six weeks.
After season 1 of Bridgerton, which followed the blossoming romance between Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Rege-Jean Page), the Duke of Hastings, released on Netflix on Christmas 2020, Abigail shared a TikTok video that asked, “Ok but what if Bridgerton was a musical?”
In the clip, she began singing a tune she’d written called Daphne’s Song, from the show’s female lead’s point of view as she pondered her feelings for Simon and his feelings for her.
After the January video did well, she immediately posted more song snippets, including the Burn For You duet, which went viral and got the attention of fans, Broadway stars, and even the Bridgerton cast.
Abigail told fans in the comments of the video at the time: “I’m thinking a Bridgerton concept album for SURE.”
She later added to reveal: “Update/announcement: My writing partner and I are working on a concept album. Thank u for all the love!!!”
Months later, the concept album has now been completed and is weeks away from being released.
Posting the announcement on her page, Abigail wrote: “We burn for you. The unofficial #bridgertonmusical album will be available on all streaming platforms September 10. ❤️🔥”
Meanwhile, Emily shared the same announcement on her own feed and excitedly wrote: “GUYS……. ITS COMING. SEPTEMBER 10th #bridgertonmusical”
Along with the album cover, the duo also included a short video of the two opening up about making this album for fans and for their own love of the Netflix show.
“It was a passion project from the beginning,” Abigail said. “We didn’t do it to make money. We didn’t do it to get famous. We just did it because we love to write, and we love Bridgerton.
“We’re really proud of this project as a whole and to release it, finally, for our fans, is just a dream.”
Emily added: “We don’t think that by releasing this one that in the future we can’t do, like, a cast album with our dream cast or whatever because we feel like they can live side by side.”
Abigail teased: “We’re giving people what they want but saying, ‘This might not be all.’”
Along with gearing up for the release of their album, the Bridgerton the Musical co-creators are one of the headliners of Broadway's outdoor music festival later this month, Elsie Fest.
Jordan Fisher, Darren Criss, and Adreienne Warren will also be headlining the August 29 show in Brooklyn, NY.
The even will also feature guest performances from Kirstin Maldonado, Alex Brightman, and others to be announced at a later time.
Barlow and Bear might have more Bridgerton songs and albums to create in the future, as the romance drama, based on Julia Quinn's novels of the same name, is .
