Married at First Sight: Are the weddings legally binding?
MARRIED At First Sight sees sexy singletons marrying a complete stranger.
The UK series follows the same format at the Aussie version, but some fans often wonder how legally binding the weddings really are.
Are the MAFS weddings legally binding?
Despite exchanging vows and rings, marriages on Married at First Sight UK are not legally binding.
A spokesperson for the show told : “Following the Australian format, rather than legal marriages, the couples will make a lifelong commitment to one another at a glamorous ceremony.
"This is overseen by a wedding celebrant, that includes guests, bridal gowns, dancing, speeches and cake.”
Although the weddings aren't technically legal, couple can choose to get married for real at the end of the series.

Who pays for the weddings on MAFS?
It's not exactly clear who pays the full amount, but Channel 4 foot the bill for the venue.
So far the most expensive nuptials has been held at North Mymms Park Hertfordshire’s Grade I Listed Elizabethan Stately Home and Castle Ashby in Northamptonshire.
According to , Channel 4 bosses may have splashed as much as £24,850 on the reality stars' big day if held at the latter.
That includes venue hire, £2,000 catering for 100 guests, £650 wedding cake, £1,200 flowers and £1,900 photography. Brides were also given a £1,600 budget on dresses.

It's a pricey risk for Channel 4 seeing as only one of the matched couples have stayed together across the past five series.
When is MAFS UK back on TV?
After a record breaking 2022 series, Married at First Sight UK is returning bigger than ever before.
At 36 episodes, this will be the largest series to date and the show’s longest ever run at six weeks long.
MAFS 2023 starts on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 9pm.
Viewers can expect lots of action, as a TV insider told OK! that there has already been a wife swap and a huge argument.
