The View’s Meghan McCain felt like she’d been ‘SLAPPED’ when Joy Behar said she ‘didn’t miss her’ during maternity leave

THE View's Meghan McCain revealed she felt like she's been "slapped" when Joy Behar said she "didn't miss her" during her maternity leave.
Back in July walked away from the popular talk show after she was said to be "done" with all the on-air fights.
In her her upcoming memoir Bad Republican, the notable conservative touches on many things in her life, including her four-year stint on , and was able to share a passage about Meghan's time on the program.
One such instance the 36-year recalls is the time she returned to TV following .
Meghan wrote: "When I was getting ready to return to work, I told my producers that it was going to be rough for me. I didn’t ask for special treatment, but I didn’t expect the attacks to start either. When other women come back from maternity leave on The View, they are welcomed with confetti and baby presents.
"Also I had been gone for three months and I had assumed they had missed seeing me. I was wrong."
She continued: "On my second day back, as I was still getting my sea legs back and adjusting to my new schedule and life between breast-pumping and researching for my hot topics, Joy and I began squabbling a bit about the state of the Democratic Party on air.
"To make light of things and to ease the tension, I said, 'Joy, you missed me so much when I was on maternity leave! You missed fighting with me!'

Meghan added: "Nothing anyone has ever said to me on camera since I have been giving interviews since I was 22 years old ever hit this hard. I felt like I’d been slapped. She yelled out at me sharp and intensely and I believed her.
"Now, I know I’m not always a perfect angel, but I would never speak to any woman that way who had just returned after giving birth. There are some things in life and some moments of time in life which are sacred. There are also times in life where you aren’t as strong as you usually are."
Meghan then claimed when they "broke for commercial, I burst into tears. Not just like tearing up, uncontrollable sobbing. I was super hormonal and deeply hurt..."
MEGHAN WALKS AWAY
Over the summer, , telling Joy and her other co-hosts at the time-, , and , "I'm just going to rip the bandaid off.
"This was not an easy decision, it took a lot of thought and counsel and prayer and talking to my family."
However, while concluding her announcement, she took a swipe at the renowned fights that Meghan had on-air.
"If you guys want to fight a little bit more, we've got four more weeks," she quipped.
'I'M DONE!'
Later on, according to , ABC begged the TV star to stay at the show, but a source told them that she said, "No, I'm done! I'm not staying anymore."
The insider added: "They even offered a contributor role on ABC News, which she turned down. She's just had enough. She doesn’t need it anymore — she really doesn’t need it."
