When can I watch The Tourist?
Get ready for the New Year to start with a bang with The Tourist.
The series will start on BBC1 on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 9pm.
It will run for six episodes with each dropping on the iPlayer after they have aired.
In the US the series is set to air on HBO Max, but there is no release date yet.
Who is in the cast of The Tourist?
This incredible show of course brings with it an all-star cast.
Jamie Dornan leads the cast, but not much is known about his character, other than he is called 'The Man'.
The line-up for The Tourist includes.
- Jamie Dornan as The Man - You may recognise Jamie from his role as the BDSM-loving character Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey.
- Shalom Brune-Franklin as Luci - Another familiar face in the cast is Line of Duty's DC Chloë Bishop actress Shalom.
- Danielle Macdonald as Helen - Viewers may recognise the talented actress for her breakout role as Patti in Patti Cake$.
- Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Billy - The Icelandic American actor is known for movies such as Cursed (2020), The Meg (2018), Trapped (2015) and The Vanishing (2018).
What is the plot of The Tourist?
Jamie stars as a British man who finds himself in the glowing red heart of the Australian outback, being pursued by a vast tank truck trying to drive him off the road.
An epic cat and mouse chase unfolds and he later wakes in hospital, hurt, but somehow alive. Except he has no idea who he is.
With merciless figures from his past pursuing him, The Man’s search for answers propels him through the vast and unforgiving outback.
At its heart however, is a story of self-discovery with a ticking timebomb underneath: as The Man starts to uncover the mystery of who he was, he’s also forced to ask who he is now - and fast.
Will he unlock the secrets of his identify before those who are trying to kill him catch up with him?

BBC dropped a first look at The Tourist at the beginning of December 2021.
The trailer shows Dornan driving his car, before being hit by a huge truck.
We see him asking: “Why would somebody want me dead?”
The trailer then teases multiple attacks against him throughout the six-part series.
