Emmerdale’s Matthew Wolfenden seen for the first time since being caught up in race row
EMMERDALE star Matthew Wolfenden is seen for the first time since the Sun on Sunday revealed he is caught up in a race row.
The actor, David Metcalfe in the ITV soap, was absent from filming following a complaint an inappropriate comment was made to a mixed-race actress.
Wolfenden, 41, and co-star Isabel Hodgins, 28 — who both deny any wrongdoing — ceased filming while the complaint was investigated.
Wolfenden was seen filling up at a petrol station near his Yorkshire home.
Aaron Anthony, 30, who confronted Wolfenden over the claimed racist incident, has since left the show.
Sources told The Sun on Sunday that he was furious about his colleagues’ alleged behaviour.
Charley Webb, who is married to Wolfenden, is quitting the soap for good after 19 years playing Debbie Dingle.
