My first ever kiss was a lesbian one on Coronation Street – I was s***ing myself, reveals Brooke Vincent

CORRIE star Brooke Vincent has revealed the soap’s first lesbian kiss between herself co-star Sasha Parkinson was also her first ever snog.
The actress, 29, was just 16-years-old when soap bosses came up with the 2010 storyline in which her character Sophie Webster fell for school pal Sian Powers, played by Sacha.
And speaking in detail for the first time about the infamous kiss, Brooke reveals her lack of experience meant she had concerns about making the snog look genuine.
She says: "It was like the end of the shoot and they brought it forward so we had no time to think about it.
"So bearing in mind, not only is this my first kind of lesbian on screen kiss, it's my first kind of kiss.
“So I was a bit like 'where we at here, do we do tongues, do we not, do I put my head this side, which side are you going? Have you brushed your teeth?'
"I remember we had a tea break beforehand. I remember saying 'are you going to eat that?' I think it was something like garlic, or like garlic and herb Philadelphia. To make light of it."
Brooke added to Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To podcast: "It was amazing. There wasn't reality TV, there wasn't young influencers, there wasn't anything like, so we had an absolute ball.
"We thought we were so f***ing important - it was like the nation's favourite lesbian please, address me by my title.”
Brooke took a break from the Cobbles in 2019 to become a mother, having given birth to two sons Mexx, two, and Monroe, nine months.
Elsewhere on the podcast, Brooke said she had no plans to return to Coronation Street as she wanted to focus on her family.
Brooke said: “The boys need me at the minute, I haven’t got the commitment in me to say to Corrie ‘let me come back’.
“Corrie was and is very full-on when you’re busy and it makes me laugh because I know everyone has kids, but I’m like: ‘I’ve got kids so I can’t come at that time. I’ve got kids.’”
Having starred in Corrie since she was 11 years old, former Dancing on Ice star Brooke says she was due a rest from the pressures of acting and admits she took a make-up course last year in view of potentially changing her career.
She explains: “I remember when I did Dancing On Ice and I would be getting up at 5am to do the radio, go straight to ice training, then go straight to Corrie and back to dance lessons.
“There was a period in my life where I worked so, so hard, I thought ‘you know what? I’m going to take my time with the kids.’”
