The pair, who both took part on series nine of the talent show in 2012, looked thrilled to be hanging out and marked the moment with an embrace and a selfie.

Celebrating a decade of friendship, Rylan simply wrote: "Ten Years ❤️ @JamesArthur23."

The September singer and X Factor winner was quick to respond, writing: "Love you so much Rylander ❤️ thanks for the pod today."

Loose Women star Ruth Langsford gushed: "LOVE him….and you obvs! ❤️❤️"

MORE ON RYLAN

Union J singer George Shelley added: "How has it been 10 years!"

In 2012, the judges included Take That star Gary Barlow, X Factor favourite Louis Walsh, N-Dubz singer Tulisa and The Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger.

Two of Nicole's acts, James Arthur and Jahméne Douglas went head-to-head in the final.

James ended up winning the competition, with Jahméne coming in second, and Christopher Maloney placing third.

Finalists also included Rylan, Ella Henderson and Union J.

Rylan's latest post comes days after he revealed that he had to disappear in order to feel better about his marriage break down - and also sees it as a "f***ed up blessing".

The TV star split up with his ex husband Dan Neal last year.

After meeting back in 2013, Rylan and Dan, 43, tied the knot two years later.

Everything seemed great until The Sun revealed in June last year that the couple had separated following on from Rylan's seven-week disappearance from our screens.

Earlier this week The Strictly: It Takes Two host opened up to The Sun about how he's been coping at No7's  launch party.

When asked what advice he has for anyone going through something similar, Rylan said: "Do what’s right for you.

"What was right for me was to disappear to get bad, to feel s**t, to lose myself.

"I didn’t want to that, but it happened.

"I get a lot of messages from people saying they’re going through a break-up or a divorce and I usually think I wish I can help you, but I can’t."

Despite his heart ache, the TV presenter has tried to see the positive in what has happened to him.

Rylan added: "It’s only now all these months on that I can sit there and go that I’m glad I’ve been through that in a real f***** up way because I know I will never let myself let anyone let me feel like that.

"It’s almost like a cursed blessing."

Rylan, who also revealed his wish list for a new man, said: "I’ve come back a lot stronger.

"I’ve actually come back with the greatest of respect without sounding like an absolute p***k – I’ve always been nice to everyone and been a yes yes yes man.

"But I’ve actually come back with a little bit of not f*** you, that’s the wrong word, but a little bit of no, but in a nice way, not in a rude way, I’d never be rude to anyone."
